Hero-U: rogue to redemption

latest news make me go a bit hmmmmmm

Two of our team members have decided to reduce their involvement in the project for personal and financial reasons. Because we barely scraped by with $9,000 over our minimum goal, we were not able to pay for full-time work to any of our contractors. In fact, my current projections show Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption running at a $50,000 loss, mostly because I underestimated the cost of fulfilling all of the premiums. This includes the art time needed to customize Yearbook pictures, paintings, and statues, so that's good for the artists. But we also need to get all the game art assets, so the premium reward art is an additional expense to the project as a whole.

As a result, all of our team members are working on other projects simultaneously with Hero-U. Andrew Goulding and Eriq Chang have full-time commitments on other projects, and decided that 60-hour weeks before we even start Crunch Mode are more than they can handle. They will continue to work on specific pieces of Hero-U, but will not take part in the main development effort. Andrew is graciously allowing us to continue using his MacGuffin's Curse engine under the Hero-U code, so we still have that strong head start on development.
only 9k over the 400k..... that remark makes me wonder.....

Half-Life 1 coming to Linux!
25 Jan 2013 at 7:42 am UTC

ha, that made me dig up the old CD and enter the code, never did that for half life 1, back when it was released I did not see the reason as steam was just for online stuff and having a crrrrr-beeep-crrrr modem that was way to expensive.  old code did work fine just now :)

Quoting: liamdaweQuote from BumadarThey released a test client, sadly they seem to be going the Steam route:
32bit
its a .deb  file so .rpm people can convert is using alien
it needs root to be installed and has hardcoded paths, so running just the client won't work as it really want to write in /var/lib/indiecity

desura did it so nicely :/
I can't seem to find a download? Their download page is for windows, their blog mentions some delays?

signed up for the beta :)

Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Linux no longer a stretch goal
22 Jan 2013 at 6:55 pm UTC

Quoting: toorWhat is unclear to me is how much do we have to pay to get the game at its release? I see it nowhere in the different pledge sections.
its a free to play game, your just paying for a port to android/ios/linux and some extra features in the final game

Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Linux no longer a stretch goal

this whole kickstarter is odd, the game will be released for win/mac if people kickstart it or not.  if they do reach their goal then those 200.000 will give first and for-most and ios and android version, co-op and crafting system.... ooh yes and a linux version now..... why would win/mac users back this at all, its a free game anyways for them ?
