Quoting: BumadarIf your an nvidia user I agree, it works better out of the box on them.
If your an amd user then I feel there are more option as you can totally avoid closed source drivers.
Well only disto I can think of thats not good for an Nvidia user is Holoiso steamos.

I have a pretty slow gaming computer so I have to go for speed to reach 4k or atleast 4k with fsr or the like, so atm I am running ChimeraOS and CachyOS, they are both great for speed in games, ChimerOS is the fastest I have tried, however its a bit too locked down for daily driver usage.
I use tumbleweed myself, for as long as it's been out. It was always a pain with nvidia simply because the new kernels where always ahead of patches nvidia had to make. Switching to amd was the best I ever did, so for myself I think tumbleweed is best, but I stand with my statement that Ubuntu is probably best out of the box for new users.

Ubisoft making a return to Steam with Assassin's Creed Valhalla on December 6th

Don't compare it with the original assassins creed games, it's a nice game on it's own, it is huge though and as BA would say "I pity the fool who gets the full game and all dlc's" it is huge, easy 200+ hour sync. But the "forgotten saga" is worth a special mention, it was by far one of the most refreshing rogue like game I played in a long time, especially if you go for the achievements like reaching and killing end boss without using a shrine. Feels so impossible at first but amazing when you complete it.

CD PROJEKT RED announce The Witcher Remake in Unreal Engine 5

Quoting: ShmerlInteresting, though I'd say the first game is good and doesn't need a remake, but if they want to make one - why not.

And since it's Unreal Engine 5 they can as well make a native Linux version. What happened to such idea?
The controls of the first game were horrible, I dare to say at least 60% of the people who bought it back then stopped very soon because of the controls, lag, sluggish fighting etc etc. So in that respect I welcome a remake, but they can leave the story etc as it was, there was nothing wrong with that.

NVIDIA "unlaunching" the RTX 4080 12GB, apparently 4090 Ti cancelled due to melting

I am starting to understand EVGA for saying bye bye, here you are with a few containers full of 4080 12gb which you can now repack, new bios and sell as a 4070 something..... if your lucky

JSAUX released a firmware update for their Steam Deck Docking Stations

Unfortunately, there is a catch. Their firmware update is only designed for Windows. However, I have mentioned the Linux Vendor Firmware Service to them, so hopefully they can put it up on there giving Linux users an easy way to update too.
When I started reading I was thinking "it's used with a Linux device so have they really made it possible to update from Linux" and when I saw your catch line I was laughing out loud. Let's hope they check out fwupd.org and get it included.

I platinum it on ps4 and loved it. Its a bit hard at the start as you very weak, but once you past that it is brilliant. And the music is just awesome. So ignore the scores and have fun.

Quoting: BumadarHave the might and magic games ever gotten a modern engine/gfx etc ?

Loved those way back in the days when you would get a code and adress after completing the game and sending a letter to them you would get you an official certificate by post 4 weeks later for completing the game :)

Oooh and how might and magic IV and V created the world of xeen, that was like the most amazing thing ever :)
DreamMaster [External Link] wrote an engine for Might and Magic IV/V in ScummVM and as far as graphics go, maybe not modern but he's currently working on an engine for Might and Magic: Book One to use the graphics of the Xeen games [External Link].
Thank you !!
