Don't compare it with the original assassins creed games, it's a nice game on it's own, it is huge though and as BA would say "I pity the fool who gets the full game and all dlc's" it is huge, easy 200+ hour sync. But the "forgotten saga" is worth a special mention, it was by far one of the most refreshing rogue like game I played in a long time, especially if you go for the achievements like reaching and killing end boss without using a shrine. Feels so impossible at first but amazing when you complete it.
CD PROJEKT RED announce The Witcher Remake in Unreal Engine 5

Quoting: ShmerlInteresting, though I'd say the first game is good and doesn't need a remake, but if they want to make one - why not.The controls of the first game were horrible, I dare to say at least 60% of the people who bought it back then stopped very soon because of the controls, lag, sluggish fighting etc etc. So in that respect I welcome a remake, but they can leave the story etc as it was, there was nothing wrong with that.
And since it's Unreal Engine 5 they can as well make a native Linux version. What happened to such idea?

Unfortunately, there is a catch. Their firmware update is only designed for Windows. However, I have mentioned the Linux Vendor Firmware Service to them, so hopefully they can put it up on there giving Linux users an easy way to update too. When I started reading I was thinking "it's used with a Linux device so have they really made it possible to update from Linux" and when I saw your catch line I was laughing out loud. Let's hope they check out fwupd.org and get it included.

W4 Games raised $8.5 million USD to support Godot Engine

I do agree that forking OpenOffice in the longrun worked out, although I am not sure how that works for game engine's, the big gaming dev's tend to write a lot of in-house stuff against an engine to help there needs, a fork of a game engine which is used by companieswith self written add ons or bought add ons is diffrent from a fork of an office suit which we end users use.

Quoting: KimyrielleLet's see where this goes, but I am not too worried. If the worst case happens and that company gets taken over by big-evil-business, I am very confident that Godot will get forked by a new dev team and live happily ever after. It happened after OpenOffice got taken over by big-evil-business, too. The good thing about open source is that it's fairly immune against hostile takeovers. To keep it interesting for the investors I would guess the console market... so keeping that out of godot and as a payable add on, or something like that.
In the best case, this could be a positive game-changer for Godot. While not everything the team will be working on will get upstreamed to Godot, I am sure that a lot of it will.

Sorry but isn't this just normal ? The ifixit thing where you can get parts, that is cool and let's hope more companies go that route, either because new laws force them or they simply see the light :)
But you know, your still under warranty device breaks then its nothing more then normal that you can ship it back and it gets fixed. This has nothing to do with "This just continues to show how all-in Valve are on the future of the Steam Deck" but is normal consumer law/rules. And even out of warranty fixing for a price is not that unheard off.
