My policy is: I only buy a game that once had Denuvo after it has been removed and is on very heavy discount (less than 4€). I don't want to be punished for being a customer. There are so many other games…
Edit: I don't think that Developers are free to make the decisions. From the things I have read the driving force behind Denuvo seems to be the stock market.

I don't think there is a Linux version of a game that uses GodotSteam on GOG, since they all seem to use GOG's wrapper that has no Linux version.
If you need knowledge of the implementation of the Lua runtime to optimise the solutions that does not sound like a lot of fun.

1. The way they treated the composer – although there are (obviously) conflicting reports trying to redirect blame – I tend to believe his very long writeup of the development process of the sequel. If I were to ignore that then there is still…
