JSAUX announce their new Steam Deck Dock with an M.2 SSD slot

In the time between when I ordered my "upgraded" dock from then and now my dock went from New York and New Jersey (no, it wasn't on the dock).
Kinda frustrated that I could have paid for this and a much better dock comes within seemingly less than a month. I know that production and technology goes fast but this feels like a slap in the face. I'm not one to be sour about these things because I bought my Index knowing Valve's support for SteamVR has been (putting it politely) "less than stellar".
Very nice to see a new feature like this regardless and I hope it treats it well.

I want to congratulate Pastaq and the ChimeraOS team on their release. Pastaq spared time to help contribute to decky-loader while working on this update. Good stuff.

Quoting: natis1Minecraft has always online DRM in that you have to login to download the game, and you have to login on subsequent attempts to play (if you want multiplayer that is) oh and don't forget they'll take away sound files from previous versions of the game so you can't play those versions with sound properly. Minecraft is a bad example but I get what you're driving at.Quoting: MadWolfYes your right. It's more like if Minecraft was an always online game and they could force you to use a version that didn't support mods. Which is even worse.Quoting: natis1The real problem here is you can't host your own servers with EAC off. Official ones can and should use some kinda protection ideally serverside but killing off a massive active modding community is just shitty. Imagine if Minecraft in response to some people using cheat clients like baritone decided to add forced AC that broke every mod.
this will not work it may work for the new versions of the game before a modder made a mod to bypass the EAC or players will stick to a version of the game that does not have EAC
players that like to play with mods play Minecraft java edition

Quoting: PublicNuisanceI refuse to buy games with Denuvo on principle even if they work with Linux. This will be no different.0

Quoting: cookiEoverdoseDoes Developer mode + CEF Remote Debugging need to stay on permanently for it to work?Yes, unless valve provides us with an API this is required. The team is looking into blocking non-localhost connection requests on non-development versions though if that addresses any concerns.

Ya'll this is his job and he got them either as review units or bought them off of people. Calm down, it's mass produced consumer hardware. While it's meaningful for the proliferation of Linux, it's best to not be so invested in a product made by a multi-billion dollar corporation. (I couldn't make it through the first 5 minutes to be perfectly honest.)

Quoting: TheSHEEEPI've been waiting for another Valve VR headset for 3 years now. Gabe really should stop lying to the public that he knows what's going on at Valve when he clearly doesn't.Quoting: TrainDocI'm definitely expecting a second one. At some point.Quoting: TheRiddickThis thing taking way to long to come to Australia, wonder what the Steam Deck 2 will be like. Maybe a 7000 series APU? or perhaps they will get a custom RDNA3 job done.I want to temper your expectations. Just because Gabe said he's interested in a second model...
Doesn't mean we'll ever see one and my expectation is that we will likely not see one. You can hold me to that.
A third one, however, given Valve's inability to count to three...
