They actually fixed 2 issues that occur on Wayland: Vulkan not working with Wayland AT ALL (appeared and resolved in a vulkan beta driver) and lack of explicit sync. (fixed for only prime systems)

Graphics Pipeline Library support in AMD and Intel drivers. Nvidia fixing their driver issues, especially ones related to Wayland.
Controversial opinion: Inclusion of an Android-like official<->rooted system in SteamOS so actual kernel level anticheats and L1 Widevine (for 4K Netflix and others) can be ported to Linux.

The Steam Deck needs exclusives, but it already has many of them. Superb community support, desktop mode, the ability of installing external software, easy emulation setup and so on. Exclusives don't have to be games.

Now you made me excited. If these Vulkan extensions can make use of distro-provided H.264-H.265 libraries then video playback issues will be a thing of the past. For some distros at least.
