There's also a sale going on right now to mark the 2023 Tokyo Game Show [External Link], which started today. I presume that it'll run for the same length of time as the show itself, which is September 21st to 24th for this year's event.
Anyway, the idea of a Dinos vs. Robots Fest intrigues me. It seems like such a highly-specific idea, even with the stipulation that any combination of the words "dinosaurs" and "robots" counts, so it ought to be interesting!

Proton 8.0-4 is now in testing with a Release Candidate

It's possible to make it work with some hoop-jumping, but I specifically bought it to play on the Steam Deck, and the only current workaround for it requires you to play in desktop-mode, which isn't optimal.
Looking forward to when they get it working - I do like to support official re-releases like this when they're made available to me, after all.

Quoting: Craggles086Any games out there that people are getting impatient for Valve to find a fix for??Anniversary Collection Arcade Classics [External Link]. It's a collection of Konami arcade games, and I grabbed it in the Fanatical summer sale without checking ProtonDB first (which I otherwise always do), since I expected it would work under Proton like the Castlevania and Contra collections do. Wrong!

Quoting: MinuxI always wonder on these releases... Are they better than using Proton Experimental by default? I've used both of them and I don't really see any difference at all.I can only speak from my own experience here and I'm no expert, so keep that in mind. Though I usually stick to Experimental (or just leave whatever's been set for a game on the Steam Deck), I've had (rare) occasions where a Proton Experimental release will break a game that worked fine before, whereas my understanding is that the numbered releases are guaranteed to keep working with whatever was set in stone when they were released. My takeaway was to just use what works best for you.
I've heard of Proton Experimental being less stable, but did not experience anything like that at all.
Would there be any benefit of switching one or the other?

I only got my Steam Deck recently, and haven't yet seen a huge update like this. I've had such a great experience of it already (the only two major issues I've had were a bug and a hang/softlock with switching to desktop-mode), and it'll be interesting to see the improvements in action.

I really like Murtop, too. It plays spot-on, and feels a lot like a "lost" arcade-game from the 1980s (which reminded me somewhat of another recent title called Donut Dodo).

Quoting: slaapliedjeBut will this make me swear as much as Dig Dug does???That is entirely possible - in the best of arcade traditions, of course.

I love Bomberman (oh god, look at how much time I've spent on Super Bomberman R 2 since it released two days ago...), I like Dig Dug, and I also happen to like Watership Down, and also those angry moles remind me of Mr. Resetti from Animal Crossing, which I also used to like, so a game with a bomb-pooping bunny that combines all of these things is right up my alley.
I love the style of the key-art, too - also very on-point. This'd be the second game this week that feels like it's been made just for me, hahaha!
Bought.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyYes, well, archaeologist. Maybe she had a rivalry with the dinosaur guys. "Goddamn paleontologists think they can outdrink us?!" :grin:Hahaha! Still, I'd think she wouldn't be actively aiming to muscle them out of a great discovery!

Anyway, the remasters look great (I'm not a big fan of remakes - I prefer the approach taken here*). I'll hold off on pre-ordering (if I do, it'll probably be through Fanatical if they've got a good offer on), but I'm very likely to get it close to launch.
*There's a good animation-specific study of that, albeit about a different game, here [External Link].

Quoting: Liam DaweOh I know what you meant, just making sure my own stance is clear :)Ah, good good! Do pardon me, I like to be clear about mine, too, haha! Nothing worse than being accidentally misunderstood.

Quoting: whizse- Wow, Lara! You found a dinosaur! Those were thought to be extinct.,,, *blam blam blam* - Nevermind, extinct it is.It's silly, but this always bugged me when I was a youngster, for precisely that reason - one of the greatest early on-screen exploits of Lara Croft, the great archaeologist, was her taking out a live dinosaur that had somehow survived.
