This info is really interesting and cool.

Though I tri-boot Linux Mint Cinnamon, GhostBSD Xfce, and Windows 11 Pro. Linux being my main OS. Windows for things and games that aren't Linux native, and GhostBSD cause it's cool to use sometimes. Plus a Mac mini for macOS too. lol

However plebian on-board sound is a disgrace. I'm glad that my Sound Blaster AE-7 works *better* in Linux than Windows. The native Windows 11 drivers don't actually properly save your speaker setup settings, and I'm forced to run Creative's software instead. In Linux it's just "Set it, and forget it!" like the old Ronco infomercials. XD

I just wish that they'd actually hire people instead of just using contractors. I've worked contract jobs before, and it's always in the back of your mind about the lack of job stability and/or security. Plus it would just make Valve's work on Linux look that much more serious, I feel. Cause then they'd have taken time to actually hire workers themselves.

Sorry if this is a bit off subject, but I feel that it's something that needs to be thought about more.

While it sucks to buy twice, you could think about getting it on Steam, too. Far from a perfect solution, but the game is on sale for something like 4$ every once in a while and it is a pretty good game.
That being said... while my experience with games on Linux is limited, I would never bet on Microsoft to make your life any easier. Vampire Survivors runs pretty well with Proton even on slower hardware and if there ever is a chance for a game to have a native version I recon your chances are much better going with Steam than with the MS Store.

My whole thing about buying some Play Anywhere games from Microsoft is basically to make my Xbox Series X less useless. It all depends on the game. If I want it on PC and it's Windows only, is single player or has cross-platform multiplayer, and is Play Anywhere. Then I get it from Microsoft. However, if it's got Remote Play Together on Steam, then that bypasses Play Anywhere. While on the other hand, native Linux support bypasses everything on PC, and I always try to get that version if I can. Though I find it annoying when some developers don't put their Linux (or 64-bit Mac) version on Steam or GOG, and leave it stuck on itch.io or something. 😑

Yeah, I tried DMing them on Twitter about a Linux version and didn't even get a reply. I'm glad that I got two of the other Amnesia games for free way back and only paid for one. If they don't wanna make a native Linux version then I'm gonna wait some time until it's cheap on sale.
