X-Plane 12 flight sim is now available in Early Access with Linux support
15 Sep 2022 at 12:53 pm UTC

I tried yesterday, and it doesn't feel like an "early access", is more like a feature update.
And if it has to many bugs, you get access to x-plane 11, that has many years of bug fixing.

I'm sorry for the developers, but with this, the cracked version would be much superior than the comercial.
- Free (0€)
- No micro/macro transactions
- Possible no advert
- Playable

Various BioShock games get a 2K Launcher calling it a 'Quality of Life Update'

I liked this game, and now I cannot play what I paid. I feel robbed.
I would accept the laucher if it was optional and doesn't break the game.
The only kind of game that probably would need a laucher some multiplayer games, that needs exactly the same version of the game on every client. But also this also sould be optional. Why not play with people with the older version?
Put a message, "this game should be updated".
But no need to update a game otherwise unless it fixes (without breaking or adding anything).
Steam should put a rollback option to get an specific game version with this kind of developers.

JSAUX announce their new Steam Deck Dock with an M.2 SSD slot
5 Sep 2022 at 11:52 am UTC

It's to "premium" for me. I'm and "old school" gamer. Bring me the s/ata with cd or floppy connector.
Also, I don't understand the m.2 support.

It has M key support and not M key support.
So some M key work and the others not?

AMD announced "Zen 4" with Ryzen 7000 series, RDNA3 teased

Quoting: EikeSo AMD is not doing big and little cores, like Intel does?
Intel does big/little because they are unable to deliver cores with little power consumption. AMD with 5nm should be capable to use less power.
It's only me or the prices are high. My ryzen 1600x cost much less when I bought.
Well... I'll wait for am6 or risc-v.

Steam Deck 2 is absolutely coming, new booklet from Valve confirms

Quoting: gradyvuckovicGood to see Valve taking this initiative. Never underestimate the value of localisation. About 95% of the world don't speak English as a first language, and 75% don't speak English at all.

Would be nice to see some more Linux distro websites translated as well. Hard to promote your distro to the majority of the planet if the majority of the planet can't read it.

For a quick sample, the following websites are only available in English as far as I can tell from looking at the homepage of their websites:
- https://linuxmint.com/ [External Link]
- https://manjaro.org/ [External Link]
- https://ubuntu.com/ [External Link]
- https://archlinux.org/ [External Link]
- https://www.centos.org/ [External Link]
- https://endeavouros.com/ [External Link]
- https://getsol.us/home/ [External Link]
- https://www.gentoo.org/ [External Link]

Shoutout to these websites for having numerous translations available on a visible dropdown on their homepage:
- https://getfedora.org/ [External Link]
- https://www.debian.org/ [External Link]
- https://www.opensuse.org/ [External Link]
Yes, it should improve. At least when installed have localization support.
Valve must improve here too. Some years ago, I signed a petition (with many people) to bring steam catalan support, but they don't care. They let people to translate the gui, but they don't want to add it.
And for steamos they should let configure the desktop mode/kde to other languages.
This I couldn't try if it's possible to install manually, but it should be easier.

Steam Deck production better than expected, Q4 emails already going out
23 Aug 2022 at 9:55 am UTC

My deck it's already on the way (after waiting a year).
I imagine the production its increasing because it's no longer necessary to produce useless crypto miners.
Nvidia/amd are not producing the new graphics card and want to wait as there are to much on the market and aren't selling as much.
Or simply the production has increased.

I'm waiting to try mine this or next week.

Valve improves Steam Deck offline mode with more to come
16 Aug 2022 at 9:07 am UTC Likes: 4

SteamDeck it's a pc, so it shouldn't have anything as guaranteed, not even a keyboard or a monitor.
I hate the "always online" policy on some games. When you have the game on the device and you don't want to play an online match, there is no need to be online.
Steam it's a launcher, so there is no need to be online, or have screen, as you can lauch even some servers that doesn't need it.
