Quoting: natewardawgIt will probably be the default API in Unity3D builds starting in March when 5.6 releases.
It will be available, but it's very unlikely to be the default.

Quoting: sarmadI own a System76 Oryx Pro, and it's been great for gaming and for my work as well. Really worth the price.
+1, I couldn't be happier, and that's after a succession of macbook pros and an alienware laptop. (Although I have the model from last year, that doesn't have the backlight issues.)

Ittle Dew 2, the Zelda-like action and adventure game released day-1 on Linux

The first one was much more about puzzles than action, but I found it really enjoyable - it was fairly short, but it was specifically designed to be able to be solved different ways using different combinations of the powers, so that essentially added 3x replay value.

(Disclaimer: I have not played the sequel yet.)

Quoting: MaCroX95I'm not really familiar with SDL, does this mean that games will be able to run in independent window manager regards of which one system uses (x11, wayland, mir)? If that is the case this is some great news!
SDL is more like a thin layer you talk to (your application -> SDL -> X11/Wayland/Mir/whatever).
It allows you to use the same code for everything SDL supports. So you tell SDL to create a new window, and it will sort out how to do it on your system.
Yes. However, as Na'Tosha said, only the X11 backend will be supported at first - Wayland and Mir will come a bit later, as everything gets set up for building/deployment/testing of those configurations.

Good to see the announcement followed so quickly by action - hopefully we'll get other controllers in quick succession.

Ehvis: The idea is that you won't notice any difference, except potentially in performance.
You should be able to verify from the log (~/.config/unity3d/Unity\ Technologies/ProjectName/Player.log or -logfile whatever) what renderer is actually being used.
