Quoting: edoWhat about the people than doesn't have a pc able to run gl 4.x? And is the linux renderer limited to 4.1 because mac os?Supported core profile versions range from 3.2 to (today) 4.5. Cards/drivers that don't support 3.2 will currently fall back to the legacy GL renderer.

OpenGL 3.2 came out in 2009, but it was years before the majority of cards and drivers supported it. (Example: the driver for the Intel GPU in the prototype steam box sitting under my desk, running SteamOS, reports that it supports OpenGL 3.1.)

Quoting: YaakuroWhat? ROFL, didn't know that Unity was still using OpenGL 2.1 which came out 2006. OpenGL 3.2 came out 2009 and they used it in their engine? OpenGL 4 version started 2010 and they didn't change their engine all the time?OpenGL 2.1 was used as the baseline. Newer features were used where available via extensions.

Bink is widely used because it's a more-or-less drop-in solution for "cross-platform" video. It's a shame that they don't support Linux any more, because they certainly used to - the between-chapter cutscenes in Neverwinter Nights used Bink.

However, I agree that the fact that it works equally well for folks who prefer both is a point in its favor.

Quoting: CheesenessI have exactly the opposite experience - I much prefer playing it with gamepad.Quoting: JuliusWhat is odd is that this genre is called twin stick shooter, but it plays MUCH better with a mouse and keyboard... almost on a FPS kind of level.I've found this too. I find the gamepad so cumbersome (but other players swear by it). I think that the game stands up as a super solid keyboard and mouse experience in spite of it being specifically designed for gamepads speaks volumes about the developers attitudes towards making sure that the game is well rounded.

Unity doesn't have revenue sharing - you just use the personal or professional edition as appropriate and distribute your game how/where you want - free and open-source, free-to-play, on Steam/GOG/appstores, whatever.
Vulkan will almost certainly be supported, once there is a Vulkan to support. ;-)
