I've been really torn between Desperados III and Spiritfarer recently, since I'm enjoying both so much, and I'm having a hard time putting either of them down.

Quoting: The_AquabatDesperados III, just played four missions I can sense it's going to be a MASTERPIECE!Agreed. I thought Shadow Tactics was great already, but they've outdone themselves with the amount of "juice" and polish they've added to this game.

Quoting: rustybroomhandleYikes, another one to file under "Too 'spensive, I can't afford this"Yeah, it definitely ain't cheap, but I spent 30+ hours on Shadow Tactics (without replaying for badges), which is about ten times more time than I spend on most games, so I still think it's good value for money. Plus this one's even more packed with content, from what I've heard. I hope it goes on sale eventually though, so more people can afford it.

I bought the deluxe edition, which includes the season pass, the moment I heard about the update. As Liam wrote, it wasn't possible to install immediately, but I now have a 9.3 GB download in my queue. It's going to be difficult to choose between this game and Spiritfarer though, now that I've gotten majorly invested into that.

Quoting: EikeI loved the original Desperados. Now I tried to play Shadow Tactics, but somehow...I had the complete opposite experience this summer: After finishing Shadow Tactics (in a hotel in Arendal (which inspired Arendell of the Frozen movies)), I tried to play the original Desperados (which is also available for Linux), but I just couldn't get into it. The levels didn't feel nearly as tightly designed, it felt as though there was little or no consequence for messing up, and I missed not being able to play with a gamepad. It must be a matter of taste.
I cannot stand the genre anymore. :-(

Quoting: mosI just don't understand why people get so worked up over it. There are hate groups to this day who use these symbols, so I understand why the developer wants to avoid using them, and I doubt doing so takes any fun out of the game, so what's the big deal? This game was never big on realism anyway.Quoting: fleskthe removal of some racial symbolsjeeez

Quoting: Liam DaweYes, I think it has a bit of the same atmosphere as the games from Killmonday Games and Atmos Games. Not really scary, but creepy for sure. The puzzles in the demo weren't overly difficult, but some of the hints were very subtle, and took some looking around to figure out. Took me almost an hour to complete.Quoting: fleskI just finished the demo, and I liked it a lot. Definitely going to buy the full game once it's released. The person in the painting freaked me out a little, I will admit. Has a lot of freaky charm to it.

Quoting: SolitaryHardly authentic WW2 when they deliberately censored the whole fact that you are actually fighting against Axis powers.I don't think anyone ever played this game for its authenticity, and I doubt the removal of some racial symbols will make it any less fun.

With all the issues people have been complaining about, I don't mind the delays, if that means we'll get a more polished experience. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it past Saving Private Smith this time, with the use of video guides, since that made me rage quit back in the day. Loved the normal gameplay; hated the invasion sequences.
I'm also hoping the Linux version of Desperados 3 will be released soon, since we're getting close to the end of the summer, which was the estimated time frame from the announcement.

These are some of my favorite puzzle games, and this update seems like the perfect excuse to play them again. Would be nice to see his newer games on Linux too.
I haven't played Globesweeper, Patterna or Tametsi, but I'll have to check them out (if they are available for Linux). Thanks for the recommendations.
Another similar game, that I've enjoyed a lot is Puzlogic:

It gets pretty difficult, and I haven't finished it yet, but I pick it up again every now and then.
