If something is wrong with the prefix, nothing that happens to the game installation directory will have any affect on the prefix.

I just beat Control and its expansions via Control Ultimate Edition on Steam via Proton Experimental. Runs great, and now I'm ready to go back and play Adam Wake.

EDIT: It turns out that the game is not compatible with the latest GZDoom, so it does not currently work native under Linux unless you acquire or compile an older build. Thanks, @Plintslîcho for making me aware of this!
