Quoting: BlackBloodRumLiam, how was the steam deck on your travels?
Perfect. Exactly what I expected. Naturally you need to pick the right games if you’re going to be away from any power so it’s just knowing that and planning a bit ahead. Made the evenings a lot nicer 😅

Quoting: LinasI wonder how can a game be Deck Verified and ProtonDB Silver at the same time? Like one of those are way off, and I would trust ProtonDB more at this point.
The Deck is a standard set piece of hardware and software, ProtonDB covers thousands of possible combinations of hardware and software.
Yes, that is a factor. But would there be any reason for something like video playback to work on the Deck, but not on regular Proton? Does Valve have any proprietary plugins that are not available on the desktop?
I imagine the reason on videos might be because they would render them specifically for the deck screen size and resolution, again a pro of it being a fixed point.

Not mentioned in their post, but there is currently a rare issue on Steam Deck where the graphics might glitch-out completely.
This isn't a Steam Deck bug, it happens on Desktop too. There's a GPU synchronisation issue that happens going between vertical screens in some areas.
Thanks for the clarification! Edited that out in that case then :)

Quoting: GuestI wonder why on the Humble Store page there is no mention of Linux support whatsoever...
Probably because Steam only added it really close to release and the developer didn't update Humble on it. Happens often.

PC Gamer claimed both models had issues with ethernet speed, seemingly not knowing in their own review the higher model is gigabit, so I've added a shot to show it clearly.

Quoting: andda715wifi-related thing that might be obvious to us, but trips up a lot of new users that complain about the "the poor wifi performance":

10MB/s = 80 Mbps
It's not the performance that's usually complained about but disconnects and just it being flaky as heck in some specific cases.

Quoting: bonaparteNo link back to the actual announcement page on the Steam website [External Link]? For shame.
Isn't that already linked in the first sentence under the link embedded in the words "gone live"?
Yes, the link is right there, always has been.

I think this is at the point where it's a good idea to close as the comments have gone wildly off topic.
