Quoting: EikeIf Valve grows SteamOS properly it get to the point of proper ports of everything just about. AAA publishers follow the money and if there is money to be had you best bet they will move to that point.. Indie devs mostly make games out of passion and typically push their games to as many platforms as they can not for the money but for as many people as possible to be able to play their games.. money is just a side effect of their passion projectsQuoting: tohurUltimately this is where SteamOS will lead us.. Proper fully supported Linux ports that are not half baked and not handed off to porting houses but developed for Linux from get go. still going be some years before this is the norm but if Valve pushes SteamOS to the same heights of Steam itself thats where we are going. For now Proton is just a means to an end which is pushing SteamOS/Linux growth to the point there won't be the excuse that Linux is not a big enough marketI'm not sure about this. I'm into point and click, and I cannot remember running out of good games running natively on Linux in the last years. I think the experience is differently for other genres (like non-indie action games?) - and might stay that way?

Quoting: lejimsterThe alt+tab bug fix for me was the most important. Every time I upgrade Gnome something breaks and I tried and failed to downgrade gnome so I was stuck with the alt+tab bug. Every time I alt+tab'd out of a game I was screwed. I would have to force quit the game and relaunch.GNOME has been frustrating since 2011. ditched that mess almost a decade ago now and will never go back.. Like how the heck have they STILL not figured out how NOT to break everything every gosh darn update??! They have had 11 years to figure that out. Obviously nothing is ever perfect but in the cases like Windblows and GNOME you eventually get sick and tired of the issues and ditch it and never look back
I generally enjoy my gnome setup, I like the workflow. But the lack of stability that breaks user extensions is extremely frustrating.

Quoting: pete910Naw I buy both brands and have an 6600 Xt in my main rig atm.. I want choice and atm AMD is my only choice due to Nvidias pricingQuoting: InhaleOblivionThis is a hard nope for me. This card should be $599-$699 tops.NO, the card should be 300 absolute tops!
The whole GC market is nuts.
Quoting: tohurman I truly wish AMD would get their &^$# together and put a smacking on Nvidia!Translation: I want Nvidia card cheaper.
J/K aside Am out of the PC hardware crap, With the pricing of components gone the way they have am not prepared to fund pure greed.
Went a treated my self to an FX impact M3 and a pard ds35 scope a few weeks ago instead!

Quoting: denyasisThis is probably my favorite DE. Gnome and KDE are nice, but they are heavy and very full off features and other things. More like a whole suite. XFCE I like because there's not a lot too it. It's stays out of my way and let me game and do other basic things.KDE has been light for years now for me considering it is a full desktop suite .. a fresh install of KDE on most distros for me takes under 1GB of ram for me and on my Arch install takes under 900mb. most of us have upwards of 16gb of ram these days so that VERY light
I'm glad it's getting some love.

Will be nice to be able to play 90% of Halo on Linux once they get this fixed as Love the classics in MCC and Halo Infinite is alright atm (lacking content). even though do not like the story of Halo 5 I did like the multiplayer quite a bit so would be nice if they released that on pc as a solo game or optional dlc for MCC then we could play 100% of Halo love it or hate it

To be honest I don't mind devs not making native version of games.. lets be real here Linux doesn't have a stable api/abi.. its a moving target and to be frank I have quite a bit of native games that just out right don't work anymore just after few years or so. It gets old dealing with that bs so if they want to just support proton fine.. regardless if a game has a native version or not if you buy the game on steam in Linux it counts as a Linux sale
