Microsoft Edge available officially for Linux today as a stable browser

The general user base on computers barely manage to turn on their PC, let alone know what a browser is and that they can change it to others.
This is why Edge seems popular. It's installed by default so people use it.
Google Chrome got popular with aggressive advertising so that works as well. Firefox doesn't have a default option (aside from Linux distros) and can't do the marketing game (as far as I know, I block ads, so maybe they do a little) and so here we are.
It's only a matter of time and then chromium (i think it's called) engine is the new default and Firefox will start performing worse and worse on websites.
I currently switch between Firefox and Chrome. I wish Firefox could do spell checks in multiple languages at the same time and has tab groups like Chrome, those are so good to have.

Running the beta for the past few weeks. Can't wait for the stable live version in a few hours on Arch.
5.23 another great update, mostly behind the scenes stuff, but Wayland just got better even more.

Looks like Valve sent out quite a lot of Steam Deck developer kits

It's a shame they share their video's on twitter.
Their streaming capability is garbage and all I see is 240p resolution video with plenty of compression artifacts because of the video compression.
And Twitter takes forever to load the higher quality but by then it's too late and I already reached the end of the video.
But it IS good to see developers playing around with it.

Very impressive for just 13KB.
Steam has turned 18 years old and PC gaming has never been the same since

Ahh, the good old green UI. I still miss that look and the fact that with the new UI, skinning is nigh on impossible, makes me a bit sad. I loved skinning Steam. Made it fun to use.
I still vaguely remember making a steam account back then to play a beta release I think of Counter-Strike.
I also missed the fact that we lost those cool console message from WON when Steam went live for everyone. Just made things less cool and more streamlined which is off course a good thing, but seeing those console messages before joining a server just added to the experience.

I just hope the base UI get's a update ASAP.
Kinda ugly seeing the new and old stuff mixed together.

Feral no longer porting A Total War Saga: TROY to Linux, citing less demand since Proton

Quoting: PlayXThere is demand for native ports. But if Feral needs months or years to port a game, than I can't blame the people who try proton instead. Games need to be ready on day-1 or a few days after. But not many people want to wait of proton is a working solution.Yup, native would be nice, but it takes them too long, so I always play with Proton.

Ahh, I was expecting an actual theme, but seems it's just some changed colors.
I wonder why they have done this?

I recently switched to KDE (on Arch(EndeavourOS), since I need my updates) and I can't ever go back. KDE is a lot more performant and has so many good visual eye-candy and let's also not forget I am running KDE on Wayland full-time and aside from a few quirks, it's perfection (and let's not forget Firefox on Wayland).
Thanks Cinnamon!

Quoting: scaineI enjoyed my time on Mint. The kernel is a bit disappointing, but both Mint and Pop OS have kernel managers built-in anyway, so you can easily upgrade with a couple of clicks from the settings app.Same here. Cinnamon was there when I switched over to Linux when Proton was released. Did dabble before with Ubuntu flavors before that, but never lasted more then a few hours/day's because games...
I'll stick with Pop for the moment though. Having made the jump to gnome for xrdesktop, I don't really want to go back to Cinnamon, despite how slick it is. Maybe one day.
