Quoting: brokkrWhile I enjoyed the landscape painting, I never really connected with it as a strategy game. Couldn't spot how my choices impacted things - or if they did. Ended up just trying to do pretty towns for a while before giving up.
Same. The game looks great I just didn't have fun playing it.

SimCity 2000 was really fun and I think it was because it wasn't so complicated and you could actually tell what was going on.
SimCity 4 was my long time favorite. I really liked the regions feature, where you could have connected cities that shared resources. I once created a city called Trash Town that was literally nothing but smog belching power plants and garbage dumps, then I created a neighbor city that was super clean because it got all of its electricity from and sent all of its garbage to Trash Town

Quoting: Mountain ManIt should be obvious by now that GoG simply doesn't care if Linux users buy from them or not.
I know but I can always hope.
why would you want to give anyone your money that lacks the care in the world about you. they don't want your money so why fight to give it to them thats insanity
The other thing is why would you want to give your money to a company which can shutdown their servers overnight and you lose all of your rented games? On gog I can buy the games and download them to my hdd and if gog goes bankrupt I still have access to the stuff I paid for and can install and play all the games (even if gog is long gone).
We will always have access to our games through - ahem - unofficial means.

Available for Linux on Steam. For GOG it does not have the Linux build.
Sadly I just assume that at this point... C'mon GoG, I'm literally trying to give you my money here.
It should be obvious by now that GoG simply doesn't care if Linux users buy from them or not. So take your business to Steam. Not DRM free, but at least you know Valve actually cares about Linux.

According to some sources, MacOS is even less secure than Windows.

Civilization games are great fun for the first half when you're shaping your empire and planning your overall strategy, and then a bit of a grind for the second half after all the big decisions have been made and you're just inching your way to victory (or defeat) one turn at a time. A 4X strategy game that moves along at a faster pace sounds great, especially if Johnson was able to somehow eliminate the late game slog.

This Steam Deck Durability Test had me watching in horror

The worst part of the video for me was watching him put his thumb in the path of the razor blade. He was just asking to badly cut himself!

Wolfire versus Valve antitrust lawsuit to continue

Quoting: GuestIt isn't about selling steam keys cheaper elsewhere, it's about selling a (non-steam) game elsewhere cheaper has threats to delist the game on steam. It seems the judge has ruled that this is a plausible scenario, and is thus allowing the case to proceed.

The judge is not saying it's happening or not. Just that it's possible, and so a trial can proceed to determine the matter.
Wolfire was supposedly told that Valve will "delist any games available for sale at a lower price elsewhere, whether or not using Steam keys", which is demonstrably false.

The claim that Valve will delist games that are sold cheaper elsewhere is false on its face. Humble Bundle has been selling Steam games at a steep discount for over a decade, and not a single one of them has been delisted.

Sometime over the next week I'll be doing the upgrade, hopefully it will go smoothly. As this will be likely my first full distro version upgrade ever when using Fedora.
Unlike Ubuntu, I've never had any issues with Fedora's upgrade procedure. I'm so confident with it that I haven't waited for the stable release to upgrade in years. :woot:
For what it's worth, for the many years I used Kubuntu, I never had a single problem with upgrading. It always just worked.
