Croteam will have an interesting talk at GDC this year about game performance

DXVK could be a game changer if it keeps going the way it is now. I dual boot and atm I'm using Windows because 2 games I'm playing atm don't work under Linux, that's Kingdom Come, and sadly WarThunder (because v1.77 broke shit).

I play at 4k so things get real difficult because achieving 60fps at 4k through WINE is no small task! (plus dxvk atm isn't ready for prime time)

Yeah warthunder had this micro-stuttering, even at above 60fps. Unfortunately patch 1.77 has completely broken OpenGL and you'd be lucky to get 40fps, most times you get graphics glitches on top with much less fps. (1080ti here)

It actually causes graphical issues on Linux and performance reduction by almost half. It warns you that OpenGL has issues on launch.. so this update has made things significantly worse for Linux users sadly.

On a positive light, there is mention by the developer that they intend to move to Vulkan, supposedly. We will see.

Your basically taking screenshots of the scenery, it be nice if they had a assisted painting mode and let the player attempt to pain things using heavy guides at the start?¿ perhaps that could be something for VR mode or something...

Well there is many opensource AMD projects now, and older hardware has better compatibility with say radeonsi vs amdgpu. Its not a bad thing but sure can be confusing.

Its believed AMDGPU OSS driver is the best option if you have any amd hardware from the past 4 years (like 280x+).

Quoting: TheRiddickSoftware DRM still minimises potential software sale loses
That's the point, it doesn't minimize anything of the sort.

Perhaps, but no matter how much you scream murder, DRM is here to stay unfortunately. I generally don't let it get in the way of me buying the software I want.

Yeah screendoor is a issue. In all honestly I would probably wait for the 4k helmets anyway, one coming out later this year already (they advertise it as 8k but yeah, that's marketing BS). PIMAX is the brand. I'll wait for reviews. Not sure if a 1080ti is enough for it however...

Field of view: 110 degrees

When Vive gets a larger FOV such as 140+, then I'll be interested. My IRL FOV is quite high so 110 would look a bit like goggle vision for me.
