Apex Legends now broken on Steam Deck and Linux desktops (update: fixed)
14 Mar 2022 at 7:05 pm UTC

It's probably an oversight, not all developers on a dev-team will be clued into what each file is for.

It's generally a matter of members getting use to it.

Though it also seems like a lot of users are having server issues too, so it may have been a bad update all together.

Quoting: elmapuli dont want to be the thin foil hat here, but i bet sony, nintendo , microsoft, google or amazon are involved.
some partner of then may have asked then to say bullshit like that.
google had to pay capcom 10 millions to support their platform with resident evil 7 and 8, imagine their face when valve get this for free while they have to do deals?
the same probably goes for amazon and any un stabilished platform.
even nintendo, sony and microsoft strugle to get thirdy party support when they relase an new unproven platform.
Best not attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Fast-paced brutal FPS ULTRAKILL gets full controller support ready for Steam Deck

It's good to see games being updated to work better on the Steam Deck. Though many of these games work on top of Proton if the Deck garners a large enough gathering future games may become native.

We can only hope!

Eggnut decide not to bring Backbone to Linux officially

Reading between the lines of the statement in the article it suggests they are more interested in developing their current game than fulfilling their promise of a Linux port. With the ultimate reason being: they can't be arsed it seems.

Valve answers the question: should developers do native Linux support or Proton?

A very diplomatic answer, also a perfectly logical one, Valve is interested in games working, how as far as they are concerned is irrelevant.

Marci was great in the TV series, and I look forward to trying her out in game.

Looks like the important futex2 work is finally going into the Linux Kernel to help gaming

Quoting: jordicomaWhat? A functionality coming from windows world that its good?
Not really, WaitForMultipleObjects() is different/higher-level than futex2, however futex2 can be used to implement a faster/better version of WaitForMultipleObjects().

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 developer responds on Easy Anti-Cheat for Linux with Proton
28 Sep 2021 at 10:49 am UTC Likes: 1

I hope they enable it, I enjoyed Vermintide 1 and look forward to trying Vermintide 2 once they enable Proton access.

I don't think many developers will have an issue enabling the feature so long as they can explicitly state they aren't supporting it and for the community to accept that, though I am not certain what the actual legal position is (presumably different on a per country basis)?

A co-op game with anti-cheat, is it planning to be a persistent loot-drop game, or highly competitive?
