Gorgeous turn-based tactics game Tyrant's Blessing releases in August

Looks great! I only play that style of game on handhelds and don't have a Steam Deck at this point. Maybe someday.

Kingdoms and Castles has a huge AI Kingdoms update out now

So, now it's been a month, and the update is still not available on GOG for Linux users. I emailed the dev, and he replied to ask if I used the Galaxy client. After explaining that I used Linux and the Linux build was behind despite it being updated on Itch and Steam, he never replied. That was a week or two ago now.

I suggest purchasing this game on Steam or Itch and not GOG! In my case, it looks like I'll have to buy the game a second time if I want further updates. Even though the price is low, it's the principle of the matter, and I'm a little annoyed by it.

When I saw a video of this, I thought I had already played it before, so excellent recreation skill there!

Minecraft - The Wild Update is out now, Java & Bedrock now one purchase

Quoting: KristianSurely Microsoft has the resources to add all of the Java version festures to Bedrock right? So the missing features are hardly a guarantee of them keeping the Java version, right?
It sounds like you're in the habit of fearing things and therefore trying to find something to be cynical of here when there isn't any reason to. No reason to spread that FUD.

It looks cute, but I don't know if it's different enough from Stardew Valley.

Quoting: 14You could solve that problem by adding another drive and dual booting.
I might just give that a try... can you recommend a good guide to doing that with Win 11?
General steps I can remember from memory are:
1. Install Windows first (done)
2. Boot to Linux thumb drive
3. Install Linux and boot loader onto dedicated drive. Do not overwrite your Windows drive or boot loader.
4. Go into your BIOS and tell it to boot to the Linux drive by default
5. Once booted to Linux, tell Grub to scan all your drives for other operating systems so that when your BIOS boots to the Linux boot loader, you can select Windows if you like. You can even have the Linux boot loader boot to Windows by default.

And, of course, the Arch wiki [External Link] covers this topic in detail. :)

NVIDIA reveal a list of issues with their driver and Wayland
28 May 2022 at 5:07 pm UTC

Quoting: TheRiddickYeah IMO Wayland is still years away from prime time.
I was thinking maybe 1 year but its just such a trash experience in many ways. At least for Plasma.
My laptop, on which I only do light gaming, has been running Wayland for like a year now. My experience is far better than "trash." To your point, I don't run Wayland on my gaming desktop, but those are for features of convenience that don't work with some programs yet. I suppose maybe OBS still doesn't work...? Haven't tried in a long time. That would be a big one. Still, "trash" is pretty harsh for something that overall does work reliably in my experience.

Linux kernel 5.18 is out now

Quoting: GuestI tried using Plasma but it isn't my taste, it feels like a Windows knockoff comfort zone IMO
To each his own, but you can move the taskbar and/or systray, or replace the whole bar with Latte Dock. Boom, doesn't have the Windows feel anymore.
