Available to buy on Steam. Also on GOG if you want to try with Wine.
If you really want the GOG version instead of Steam, here is what I do with Windows games:

1. Use minigalaxy to download+install the game. It will use Wine automatically. But don't launch it. (I mean, you can see if it works.)
2. Download and extract Proton (Lutris edition) into your Lutris runners folder.
3. Set the game up in Lutris and point it at the binary/executable that minigalaxy installed. Go to the Lutris website and read one of the installer scripts to get an idea what options you should set up in Lutris manually.
3a. Select Proton as the Runner for the game in Lutris.
4. Launch via Lutris

That's a lot of hassle that I'm not sure is worth it. But it's up to you. It was the best way to get the GOG version of Frostpunk working for me.

Embracer Group to acquire Eidos, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Montréal

Since I recently completed The Shadow of the Tomb Raider (and have completed most of the Tomb Raider games), I really hope that franchise continues to be great! I'm not going to write out a full review here of course, but I gotta say Shadow was a really, really good game! Great package. Pretty much no negatives.

FLASHOUT 3 will bring high-speed combat racing later this year

The first in the series was on what, GameCube? I am certain I played the first one. This third iteration looks great! Man, my wish list is getting too long....

Quoting: GamingSlothYesyesyesyesyes!!!! I miss the whole combat racing genre a lot!!! "Have a Nice Day" for example was my favourite back then. Are there any good modern combat racers out there at the moment?
I had the same itch recently and went looking. I wanted to relive Vigilante 8 (very similar to Twisted Metal). Crossout looks really good but the anti-cheat doesn't work. Crash Drive 3 has Linux support but I haven't purchased yet. I'm thinking about trying out Drive Buy and simply returning it if it doesn't work (Windows-only). Finally, there is Assault Bots which is free. Nothing to lose. I tried that one and it's OK but not that good.

First-person zombie co-op shooter Projekt Z is up on Kickstarter
30 Apr 2022 at 9:49 am UTC

I'm not into zombie games, but a good co-op experience can overcome that. I am very interested in the game. I don't mind having to pay for something in a F2P game as long as no one can buy experience points and those unfair kinds of things.

Paradox announce Crusader Kings III: Fate of Iberia and Surviving Mars Content Packs
23 Apr 2022 at 5:28 am UTC

Despite loving Stellaris, other Paradox games haven't clicked with me. My issue with Surviving Mars is the early-on pacing. In contrast, there is immediately a good amount to do and plan on doing in Stellaris. In the CKIII weekend trial I played long ago, I never felt like anything I was doing had an effect. Europa Universalis IV I simply haven't invested enough learning time to know if I like it or not.

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is out now
23 Apr 2022 at 5:15 am UTC

Quoting: Cyba.CowboyI quite literally just finished manually backing-up my data (by copying-and-pasting to a "spare" storage drive - I don't trust "automatic" back-up tools), and now I'm just waiting for Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS to drop, so I can do a "clean" install (I always do a "clean" install when a new 'LTS' release drops, to rid my system of any unwanted junk)...
Copy and paste? May I suggest the following:

rsync -avxHAX [src] [dest]

You will get all the permissions and stuff that way.

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is out now

Quoting: scaineAnd sure, everyone loves to hate on snap, now that systemd is just an accepted thing - gotta hate on something, right?
I agree with your message here, but am I not mistaken that Debian pushed systemd first for realsies? Ubuntu did the hybrid thing for like two major releases I wanna say.

I like seeing Ubuntu succeed. I also don't discourage anyone from using it! I don't like using it though.

Mixing tower defense and dungeon crawling, Dwerve releases May 31

Ditto on the co-op wishes. That, and a lack of GOG release... it's just not quite appealing enough for me. Looks pretty cool though.
