Quoting: The_LuxI hope for a sale of the game Warhammer Underworlds Online.
I've missed the last one by a few days and since them I'm waiting for the next one. :)

It might be old, but a quick scan makes it look pretty compact and clean. So it should be easy to use for those without a degree in graphics programming. I also only see OpenGL stuff. Were these engines OpenGL only?

The only thing I've found mildly useful has been curators about special features. For instance, there is one that rates games on if they support ultrawide resolutions, which is not something that is generally covered in reviews.

Quoting: NezchanI generally haven't found following curators to be all that useful, tbh. Maybe I'm just not seeing the right way to utilize the feature?
Most of my gaming purchases are more related to reading GoL and talking to people, can't think of a single time a curator recommendation has influenced that.

Functionally the game seems to work fine and seems to deliver on what I expected from it.
Technically it has a lot of issues, so I have some bug reports to write. Two major problems: it won't properly use fullscreen. It leaves space for both the top and side bar that it doesn't use and it actually stretches the render to the screen regardless of aspect ratio. That last one also including the mouse cursor, so on my screen my mouse moves twice as fast horizontally as it does vertically.
Also, why is there a crash option in the settings? Which actually crashes when you click it.
As for the game, three hours is way too little time to really judge it.

Looking at the video, the movement looks somewhat slow. No doubt getting hit is a bit brutal, so I imagine it's all based on learning patterns and good timing. Kind of like Salt and Sanctuary. No doubt not for everyone.

Quoting: GuestQuoting: ageresFrankly, I didn't like this game much when I played it with Proton. Too difficult, slow and simply boring. It looks good but it's painful to play it.
Could you go into some more detail about what parts you found boring? I'm considering picking this up...I love Dark Souls and Metroid games so it sounds right for me.

The funny thing is, they actually changed things quite drastically compared to previous generations. This can be seen with high number of "cuda cores". Is I understand they have been messing with the balance between fp32 units and other components. Which makes the excessive power requirements all the more surprising. NVIDIA won't be getting away with this for another generation I think. So I'm happy to wait that out while looking to see what AMD is going to do.

Quoting: peta77And additionally looking at the power consumption ( 320W!!!!! ) seems to me that they simply added more cores / computing units and performance increase of the actual hardware is somewhere around zero.

Initial benchmarks on sites dealing with less useful operating systems shows a fairly consistent gain of 25% over the 2080 Ti. Which makes it slightly less optimistic than what nvidia says, but still pretty good for current games. However, that mostly applies to 4K/Ultra scenarios (besides a few others that manage very high GPU loads on lower resolutions). But if that's what you want, this seems like a quite attractive GPU for the price. Nothing special enough to replace a 2080 Ti though.
It would be nice if AMD could finally put something competitive out, but seeing that the 5700XT barely breaks half the performance of the 3080, it's not likely the RDNA2 will suddenly compete with the 3080.
