Oxygen Not Included - Spaced Out! released into Early Access

I need to put some serious time into this game if I ever hope to see all the content that they put in. So far I've been excellent at seeing the "dupes starving" content though. :D

Fantastic puzzle game Superliminal now has a level editor in Beta

Quoting: scaineThis game is superb. I absolutely battered through it in just 3 hours, but there's not a single bit of filler in there. Loved it. Hopefully this leads to more content via Workshop as I'm pretty sure there's room for some absolutely evil puzzles to play out!
You can get a few more hours out of it by going through the challenge mode. There you have to solve the puzzles in a minimum number of pickups and jumps. Some of those do require some extra thought.

Linux hardware vendor ZaReason has officially closed up shop

Quoting: bekoFirst time I hear about this shop at all. Still no idea where it was located. EST is a hint but that's it.
Never heard of it either. The date format is a hint as well. The problem with US stores is that when you've added tax, shipping and customs fees, it's not really worth it. So not that surprising that US stores remain fairly unknown in Europe.

Wasteland 3 should be available on Linux with patch 1.3 before the end of 2020

Oh no. Now I need to actually finish Wasteland 2! Where will I find the time?

Theme park building game Parkitect is getting 8-player online multiplayer
26 Nov 2020 at 11:27 pm UTC

Quoting: ixnariDid the devs explain the multiplayer in greater detail anywhere? Asking because I want to get Parkitect on GOG, but if the multiplayer is gimped due to a reliance on GOG Galaxy, I'd rather get it on Steam.
Says in the Steam announcement that they'll be doing a demonstration stream on Steam tomorrow. Seems like the right place to ask.

Steam Autumn Sale and the 2020 Steam Award Nominations are now live

Quoting: scaineHellpoint [External Link] is 30% off, which I'm quite tempted by.
So far I'm put off by the controller recommendation. Since playing a 3d game with a controller will never happen for me, this may just break the game.

Quoting: scaineEagle Island [External Link] is 40% and I've had it on my wishlist for months. Now might be the time...]
Thanks, had totally forgotten about this.

Quoting: scainePrey [External Link] is platinum, and they've recently removed Denuvo, which was preventing me from buying it until now. At 80% off, only £4, I'm picking this up, finally.
Oh! Removing denuvo does indeed change things. Still, over my 5 euro general guideline of spending no more than 5 euro on a proton game. Seems that the pound price is better for this one. What would make me more hesitant is sending money in the direction of Zenimax.

Steam Autumn Sale and the 2020 Steam Award Nominations are now live

Quoting: ageresI don't remember how it was in previous years, but now one game cannot be nominated in more than one category. My favourite 2020 game is Streets of Rage 4, it definitely suits for GotY, best coop, best visual style, best soundtrack and more. I haven't played much this year, and I'm not sure I can find enough new games to fill every category.
I think they last year was the first that limited it to one category per game. I remember it saying somewhere that it was ok to leave categories blank.

Quoting: Eike
Quoting: tmtvlI've never seen a Variable Refresh Rate setting in a game, is that a new thing?
You don't set it. The game sends the frames in the speed it can and the monitor, if VRR is enabled and all, just displays them immediately. I guess you should disable max frame rate and V-Sync, though.
Probably depends on how the driver does things. For gsync on NVidia it will just work when fps is below the monitor setting regardless of vsync (which still works if fps would exceed the monitor refresh).

340 or so days later and I am still lost in The Longing
25 Nov 2020 at 12:27 pm UTC Likes: 4

The thing that confused me is that the 400 days is not actually linear time at all. In the Halls of Eternity the timer stops, so if you would quit out there, you could wait for ... an eternity. But back in you home cave time runs quicker. And the more you decorate it, the quicker it goes. Probably goes for reading as well. So if you do it efficiently, you can easily finish the game in less than 100 days.

Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator from IPACS is now available on Linux

I think the Linux build has been there for over a year now. It was never visible on the store page though. I was kind of waiting for it to be formally announced, but completely forgot about it.
