Quoting: sourpuzBut I wish they were a tad more creative with their naming conventions. "Nova Drakonia"? Come on.
As I was reading the article, my eyes flickered ahead to the end of the sentence briefly and I initially read that as "North Dakota". 🤣

Quoting: robertosf92Great to see this game continue to evolve. One question, how does it adapt to modern resolutions? Last time I tried it, it was so damn small on a 4K screen
I don't know how it'd be at 4K; I play at 1440p and that works, using the UI scaling.

In the original there's three modes Peasant, Hero, and Demigod and they're going to tweak them so that the "Demigod" mode gives players more instructions and ongoing help - more like a tutorial mode.
Was that tutorial mode going to be built into Demigod mode, or peasant mode?

Adding it to Demigod mode seems a little counter productive.

Might have to give this another go. When I first tried this game I could not work out how to navigate the menus for gardening plots and food production. Was able to get into many money making endeavours, but rich and starving did not work for too long.
The article should (?) make that pretty clear:
they're going to tweak them so that the "Demigod" mode gives players more instructions and ongoing help - more like a tutorial mode
Specifically says the Demigod mode.

The names are confusing for sure though.
It might help to swap the order in the article so it goes from easiest to hardest (to align with how difficulty levels are usually presented): Demigod, Hero, Peasant. The names describe the character you'll be creating and how powerful they are relative to everyone else, so a Demigod is stronger than a Hero is stronger than a Peasant – hence why Demigod gets the tutorial, as it's the easiest.

Though I've still lost plenty of Demigod adventurers to a single battle by being cocky or underestimating the enemy…

Quoting: kneekooand where to find the NPCs you have to interact with?
There's a mod for that [External Link].

I'll probably check it out with my original save file that I still keep going, and a friend has recently been itching to start a new multiplayer file together, so we'll be waiting for that.

Quoting: Linux_RocksHmm: http://www.gamesradar.com/game-developers-arent-really-buying-the-similarities-between-palworld-and-pokemon-to-accidentally-create-a-complex-model-mesh-with-so-near-exact-proportions-is-practically-impossible/ [External Link] lol
The person making those claims has since been found out to have been tweaking the Pokemon and Palworld models to try to pretend they fit [External Link], though.
There appears to be some misinformation doing the rounds about this. "Tweaking" in the sense of…scaling models uniformly up and down [External Link], according to their own statement on the matter. But uniform scaling means nothing, since the proportions of the models are scale-invariant, and those are the basis for comparison.

Frankly, I'm surprised no one else has tried to replicate this yet to either confirm or deny the findings; with seven million Palworld players there has to be at least one more out there with access to Pokémon models for comparison.

I think I ran the beta some years ago (maybe for the big redesign?). I forget why I switched back to stable. Just not as fussed about updates now, I guess.

Let's see, at the current exchange rate £400 = €468, so €203,000/€468 ≈ 433.8 Sovereigns. Sounds like a good bag or two to me!

I played the demo maybe a year or two ago. Definitely quite impressive, in the style of Dwarf Fortress or RimWorld (which is unfortunately taking up all my time right now). Worth checking out if you like that type of game, and this sounds like a nice update.

I don't generally end up playing them, but I just love games like this that take some familiar classic and put a twist on it, and I'm glad they exist.
