AMD reveal RDNA 2 with Radeon RX 6900 XT, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Radeon RX 6800

Will be interesting to see just how bad the "euro tax" will be on those cards.

The '499 USD' 3070 just hit the stores here at prices equivalent to 667* USD, so there is some room to compete.

AMD reveals Zen 3 and the Ryzen 5000 series - out November 5

Quoting: The_AquabatI'm thinking since AMD confirmed that b450/470 will support ryzen 5000, what's the reason for getting a b550/570 besides pci gen 4.0, Asus is updating and refreshing some mobos to support high memory frequency like over 4000 mhz. I see no point of buying a b550, because if I understand correctly this is the last AM4 socket cpu right?
From my own research on this - as I've been waiting on Zen 3 to upgrade my old "veteran" i5 2500k

  • The 550/570 will have beefier VRMs

  • The just announced CPUs will be the last supported by the 450/470 mobos, so if you are planning your upgrade path

  • The 550/570 can use alle the pcie lanes that Zen3 cpus offer

The point I'm not entirely sure weather it's manufacturing specific or universal.

The way I see if - if you have a b450/470 now ( or apparently even some 370 ? ) I would stick with that and just upgrade mobo down the line if the need arrises.
If your just now buying into the the AMD architecture a 550 is the way to go, it the price difference is not that large so unless the budget is very tight the better vrm alone should be worth.

YMMV.

Also when will they be announcing big navi prices? tempted to wait before building the new "next 10 years" system :D

Quoting: PatolaMight be useful for 3D printing too. That's one area where we linux users lack, simple 3D modelling software. We have some professional quality options but they are too complex (Blender, FreeCAD and others).
Printing lowpoly is not something I would personally do, but you never know.

As for easy to use 3d modeling - tinkercad is quite easy, my 9 year old picked it up on his own ( despite being at best a novice english speaker )

I've always enjoyed the Pontifex style games, but I'm not sure what adding zomebies to the equation will do for the gameplay. 🤔 Unless ofcourse you are meant to build the bridges so that the heroes can cross safely but and it will then collapse under the weight of the horde - that might pose an interesting and somewhat different challenge

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoSo... They actually remade the Linux port of Metro Last Light Redux..

Now, I wonder if the games are true Linux ports or just windows games running via DXVK (or a fork of it).
We have yet to see something to come back out of stadia. The fact it's running linux gave some hope this could improve linux-gaming in general. Right now it looks like it's a closed garden, which is why I'm still throwing my money at valve.
Anyway you look at it if stadia is a success it's a net win for Linux gaming. I somewhat doubt that any titles converted to Linux for stadia will be released for general Linux consumption ( they are most likely targeting a very specific HW+distro setup for their conversion )

But it does mean that the various game engines will have to start thinking of their Linux exporters as a first rate citizen, and by extension 3rd part libraries may be tempted to actually follow suit.. maybe

Quoting: DrMcCoyoof. It's been 8 years since I cancelled my SWTOR subscription (after like 3 months of playing it, and having paid full-price for it to boot), and I'm still bitter about that game

I expected KotOR3, but I got a paint-by-numbers WoW clone. I hated it :(
Amen.

The "single player" campaign was pretty ace, but the multiplayer aspect was just nowhere near ready for release

Quoting: iskaputtDo cheaters really care about the OS they are playing on?
It's not a homogeneous group obviously but it seems that the vast majority of cheaters ( and gamers in general ) do not even know what an operating system is. If you ask them what they are gaming on the answer will be "Alienware/Dell/etc".

As a side note; It's a personal pet-peeve that the common vernacular in use for cheaters is "hacker", that term used to have a meaning before even the media adopted it as a term for blackhat operatoers - these individuals are at best script kiddies... now get off my lawn
