GOL Cast: Running Away From Mutants in Metro: Last Light

Great video, I was really shocked when I found out it was released! I was expecting it sometime next year haha :D

(Yes, I am looking at you Sabun and Xpander.)
Hehe, hope I can do something of the sort. I'm sure Xpander can :)
Your recording is definitely smoother than mine, but it could be because I'm using the 319 drivers which are a bit dated. Guess I should grab the 331 Beta drivers and game on!

I hope more people will post Linux gaming videos, so we can get word of mouth out faster!

They confirmed to me via email that it will infact head to Linux,
This is what keeps me loving this site! Thanks Liam for continually getting in touch with developers and letting us know if they do or don't have Linux plans. Keep up the good work :D

I hope to configurer failing to open gets fixed soon.
I thought I was the only one experiencing that! The devs do seem to be focused on fixing the game, but only time will tell how serious they are. I'm staying hopeful at the moment :)

AssaultCube 1.2 Open Source FPS Has Been Released
20 Oct 2013 at 3:41 am UTC

They're still going at it! I can't believe it. This was the 2nd fps shooter I played on Ubuntu when I first started using Linux in 2008. The first was Urban Terror (when is the HD for Linux going to be released eh?).

This game, despite the low graphics, was just simply fun. It's strange, when the objectives are clear cut, and it mostly depends on human skill to win, the game becomes vastly more fun for me. Maybe I'm just simple minded :D

Awsome! Which software & hardware did u use for making your video?
I used a variety of software :D
Vokoscreen to record the game (would have rather used SimpleScreenRecorder, but it crashes).
Nikon AW100 to record outside of the screen.
Audacity + Blue Yeti microphone for voice recording.
Shotwell to get the video from the Nikon.

Previously used Kdenlive for video editing, but now I'm using Corel VideoStudio X6. Gimp 2.8 for the thumbnail and graphics at the beginning of the video. Hope that helps :)

1) Bad graphics is not because of API it's a bug and it will be corrected.
I gathered this from them saying the following on Steam Discussion hub:
The visual quality is not on-par with Windows/DirectX, we acknowledge that. This has several reasons, but mostly the fact that OpenGL is more difficult and less development friendly and furthermore I have to admit that our experience with OpenGL is also the way less compared to DirectX/Windows.
However, it seems you are correct as they have then gone on to say:
Now your screenshots are certainly not how the game should look like in Linux. It is way below what we are seeing on our end and I understand your dissapointment now.
So, if it really is a bug and they are fixing it, then that's awesome! Goes to show these guys are serious about Linux support. Glad I got this game :)

It's certainly got more lights than my X36 :D
Hehehe :D
