Overwatch 2 becomes the worst user-reviewed game on Steam

Blizzard is the only large publisher I don't own a single game they've made.
And even if you purchased any of their game you would not own it anyway, due to launcher system. Except maybe on gog, or bought their games on physical copy in the 90's/early 2000. and I'm not even sure about this point.

They own the game you purchase and all your progress and data, which is why I dislike blizzard so much, just as all other big publisher like EA, ubisoft. I uses steam because I'd say it's the less bad. But still I'll never get used to the fact that I need to logon to any sort of launcher to play my games. My computer is supposed to be the launcher, not some remote system checking me all the time.

NVIDIA driver 535.98 now available for Linux
8 Aug 2023 at 11:03 pm UTC

I've not particular issue with Nvidia driver (outside of non open source). But the DSR function is a huge lack. With the good setting the feature really is a game changer. It allows to render games at higher resolutions. ie: a 1080p monitor will render at 4K (not as good as real 4K, but big improvment non the less).

The quality of DSR is a lot better than similar in game-features such as resolution upscale or using viewport through x paning.

It really is a must have feature for linux. It gives a second life to 3D aging games by removing all jaggies.

I take for exemple mad max, for which you have no feature that allows to remove the aliasing efficiently. Or for instance tomb raider underworld. The game looks almost as good as modern tomb raiders with this feature. Same goes for many of my beloved 3D titles, such as prince of persia series, GTA, shadowman...

In fact it's the only reason I still use windows for some aging 3D games. It's a second life for these titles, it's a lot better than most remaster can offer for visual improvment.

Quoting: pb
Quoting: hardpenguinHeck yes. Probably my favorite HoMM game.
Is it better than HoMM3? It looks better, but what about gameplay?
It's very similar, except units and factions are a bit different. Not as deep, no as balanced, but it has very good soundtrack and it's own rythm and design. Story is deliberatly cliché in a good way (voice acting pretty good in my language: french) I quite like it. I'm doing the backward way. Went from 3 to 2, and next I'm gonna purchase the first episode, and maybe 4 & 5 after :)

Halls of Torment is classic Diablo meets Vampire Survivors

Thanks for this discover. It's really inspired by first Diablo (which is still my favorite today). Music, sounds, monsters all seems pretty well done in that regard. I have to make few more runs to find out which card are the most interesting. I like also the fact you can gear you character. It seems pretty hard for now :p

It would be nice if they add characteristic selection such as agility strenght... like in the first diablo.

Quoting: aufkrawallWhat about Vulkan layers such as vkbasalt? On Windows with D3D, you need to put files into the game directory to make games load ReShade, which usually is blocked by anti-cheat systems. This is not the case with Vulkan layers, so it might be easier to shoot yourself in the foot if anti-cheat instead recognizes this as a cheat.

Just guessing at this point, though. It could well be something entirely different.
Isn't this a prove the developper haven't a clue about anything what they are doing? If they can't tell the difference in such obvious filepath that doesn't operate the slighest hack , how could they figure anyone cheating? That sound pretty amateur work.

This is so evil...

As usual community will do all the work to maintain thoses gems, and few years later the work done by the community will be aknowledge by Tim Sweeney's corporate and they will take back all that work and sell it as classic or HD edition, just like microsoft did with age of empires 2.

I think it's well deserved. It's one of the rare indie studio that listen to customers will and respected every promises. For instance the linux port on UE4 of the first everspace, they were encountering many technical difficulties, it took them a lot of time but they did it, and did it well. They could have say we cancel the linux port like many other studios, it consumes too much time, we don't manage to get a result. I even think it's one of the only game that managed to be a native UE4 linux game.
And it's only one exemple out of many other... They were responding to every single message and thread on the forums.
