Post Human W.A.R, a pretty decent looking strategy game might come to Linux with enough requests

Quoting: LeopardThan tell me Liam , what is "enough" term to them?
Whatever they need it to be. It will be different for every developer.

Quoting: LeopardWe are tiny, yes. But not for to beg for indie developer for Linux version.
Seriously, shut up calling it begging.
Quoting: LeopardI'm all okay for begging AAA games or similar huge games but if we start to hear enough request word from every developer , that won't be a good thing.
So to you, only AAA developers should be asked to make a port? Because who cares about great indie games right?

Quoting: LeopardLiam; if we let this thing going on. Every little to big developers will expect the same : Lick our ass for port of this game, maybe we can port it.
Seriously you have a terrible attitude.
Quoting: LeopardC'mon , nobody requested or at least with enough request nonsense; for DoW 3 and Shogun 2 (which they are huge) yet they're coming.
Because that is Feral's business model.
Quoting: LeopardYou can act like they're all equal but everything has a price and quality. So i won't beg for a non Aaa or non unique game.
Then don't, like I said. There's no need for such an elitist attitude.
You said

Check again my comment. I said AAA games or unique games. This game is not one of them.

If we don't be elitist , i'm afraid we can't get anymore users. So what am i doing that?

If we can grow (at least 1 percent) then i don't care but for growing we need much more top notch games. That is attracting people.

If they're making AAA games they don't need to ensure they're not losing on it so to me this just doesn't make sense at all.
How can you guarentee an AAA game will sell good?

Look at F1 2015. It was an AAA and released for Linux but it didn't sell well both on Windows and Linux.

So how can you guarentee that DoW3 will sell good on Mac and Linux?
That game literally had no single player and focused on multiplayer. But multi is limited to Linux vs Mac. So what will happen?

I also want to note these games have their own engines , not Unity or UE4.

This is an investment and a risk. Even big companies has chance to screw up.

So your comment is very wrong.

Ha if you are insting on that: If One have a chance to choose for begging , let it be an AAA title.

'Enough request'

Well , i'm not gonna beg for that shit. They're seeing us as beggars.
Then don't post, but drop the attitude. It is not begging, stop calling it that. It's perfectly natural for developers to want to see something when it comes to Linux. We are tiny compared to Windows, people need to stop kidding themselves.
Than tell me Liam , what is "enough" term to them?

That game is one of the little developer games and if they want to sell good they should have Linux and Mac in mind.

That is an investment and that is a risk. They want to ensure sales with acting like that.

I'm telling that developers ; when you start to develop a generic, not unique game like this. Ask for Windows users: Who wants that?

They will say: Fuck you , take your shitty game and put it your available places.

Liam; if we let this thing going on. Every little to big developers will expect the same : Lick our ass for port of this game, maybe we can port it.

I beg your pardon.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III releasing for Linux on June 8th

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTGuys, obviously I know there're technically reasons for that. Still it's an attitude since the job of a developer is to solve problems. You got a problem that you need to solve by implementing it in code. I'm a dev myself and I know a few issues can be massive, but better have no port at all than a only partly functioning one.

I don't want to be separated from my friends regarding mjmtollaEr by devs because they decide cross platform multiplayer is not doable. Even though I prefer Linux at any time I don't want to force anyone to use a specific OS to play with me.
About your bitching ; you're right but that attitude is a bit wrong.

And also with this game , it is more than right. Since this game is focusing on multiplayer.

But you said that also;

Man ; you are using Windows too. What the heck is that , what is the point of that?

Quoting: JahimselfWe need quake champions vulkan also would be ace :p Saber interactive made the engine, so between feral interactive and them, there should be a connection ^^
Quake Champions is not self Vulkanized , it is DX11. Also it is a F2P title , so how can you expect to Feral make money on that?

Before that , we need Doom on Linux natively.

Quoting: razing32Can we buy this directly from Feral when they release it ?
Want them to have a cut.

Between this and Sudden Strike 3 - seems there will be no RTS drought for me this summer.
Yes , infact that is the way Feral gets more cut. They're selling Steam keys via their store.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other than that , there were some people who very persistent about that 'Made to Wade' is Shadow Warrior 2.

One note to Feral , if they're reading this kind of stuff. Thanks to you and Paradox , we're overwhelmed with strategy titles. Isn't that the time of moving to other genres?

We need high quality AAA games like these : Doom 2016 , Skyrim , Witcher 3.

You can do it.

EVERSPACE to launch without Linux support, NVIDIA driver bugs are part of the problem
18 May 2017 at 8:37 pm UTC Likes: 1

Liam , can you ask them about ; did they test it with open source AMD drivers?

That is a problem ; right now most powerful cards are on Nvidia side and Nouveau open source drivers are bad so they're using proprietary Nvidia drivers. So this ports are just being blob driver certified ones and running some silly and simple problems on Mesa.
