If the new Rockstar Launcher runs, we can play RDR2 under Linux next month. Thanks to Vulkan probably no performance loss compared to Windows. Who would have thought that possible a few years ago?

I can't get a connection to the game. I started playing Artifact again. A fantastic card game by Richard Garfield and Valve.

But in the end I'm happy that Valve is so successful with Underlords. I like Valve because of the fantastic Linux support.

EDIT: But thank you for keeping us up to date. Maybe I'll look at Underlords again.

DXVK 1.4.3 released helping games with a large number of different shaders

Quoting: F.UltraLooked over the list at https://wiki.winehq.org/Vkd3d_known_issues and oboy you where not kidding. The difference in binding model and heap descriptors does not sound fun at all, reducing overhead there is going to be a major pain.

What are the advantages of DX12 over Vulkan for developers? I can only think of the Xbox support.

Looking at the benchmarks between DXVK, Feral ports and Windows is sometimes almost more fun than playing. ;)

The Linux port of Shadow of Mordor from Feral Interactive has gained a Vulkan Beta, a massive difference

You can't blame Feral for not doing product care.

It's also interesting to see how hard it already seems to be to outbid the performance of DXVK with a native port. They may have used DXVK as a base and only optimized it for SOM?

At the same time I wonder why Feral is working on an old game. Most people might already own the game through one of the countless sales (I do). Of course, Feral is certainly one of those companies with a lot of enthusiasm and passion for their work. But in the end each of us has to earn money.

I wonder if this might have something to do with Stadia, too? The game should now run better under Linux than under Windows. Feral has an exquisite catalogue of Linux games that have not yet been announced for Stadia.

The late release date may not be a coincidence. There may be a strong connection with the Stadia version of the game. I have written down my thoughts here:

Quoting: TobyGornowCurrently playing Nier : Automata with Proton / SteamPlay. So far, great game on every aspect except some backtracking during optional quest.
What hardware do you use?

I'm using a 3570K @ 4.3, 8 Gb, a GTX 970 and the game is installed on an SSD. Every options on max, 1080p, I've got between 30 and 40 fps with the latest version of Proton. Not bad and not great, just playable. Waiting for my new 5700XT I've ordered and then around january, I'm changing the rest of the computer.

Thank you. I also have a GTX 970 and I'm about 40 fps. Last I had the impression that the camera sometimes jumps. Hard to describe. Could also be related to the Steam Controller. Nier: Automata stutters a little bit in some areas. But still playable. Must try it again.

Quoting: BotonoskiSome irrelevant local news: I recently purchased a used DVD copy of Borderlands 2 for $8, the only place it mentioned needing Steam was in tiny font in the system requirements, as such it was a dud since the cd key had already been used, and the cherry on top: the place I bought it from has a no return policy on PC games. Now I sit here contemplating whether or not pirating the game is morally justified at this point or if this is all really my fault for expecting anything different.

More annoying than the money is being cheated. You should be able to file a complaint against the shop in any country. Something like that is simply illegal. Such a shop must be closed. They are fraudsters.

Does this mean I could play my PS4 games with Steam Controller on my Linux-Laptop?
