The main problem might be these in-game currencies (V-Bucks etc.). It is ultimately the same system that many slot machines work with. Except when you pay, you are never confronted with amounts of money. You can gamble away hundreds of dollars without ever being shown a sum of money in a normal currency.
In Fortnite, you don't buy a box for 1.99 in your own currency, but a llama for an ingame currency. As a result, children in particular lose track very quickly. And that is also the only reason for these ingame currencies. They are otherwise without any function.

I wish they had that option on Steam. But it should always be an option, not a requirement. As a German, I am subjected to ridiculous and completely arbitrary restrictions. With Left 4 Dead 2, it took over 10 years until you could play it uncut in Germany. The latest victim of German censorship is Dead Island 2. It's annoying because you keep bumping into it. Most recently I wanted to try Sleeping Dogs, but I didn't because I don't want to play the German censored version. The game is 10 years old but still censored in Germany.
Would give Valve money to let me register on Steam as an adult.

Shouldn't it be possible to display the mangoHUD horizontally? I can't find the option.

I played it often with my nephew. He only has a Raspi 400. Minecraft doesn't run very well on it, but Minetest does. Another advantage with an even younger child: the mods are all loaded from the server. There are only zeroconf vanilla clients. You don't even need a password. So I prepared the server and my nephew just connected to it. (I might need to note that I use a dynDNS based firewall. The Raspi updates its IP every 5 minutes via cronjob).
The main problem of Mineclone are bugs. There is Mineclone2 and Mineclone5. The latter implements Minecraft rather more freely and offers more content (and more bugs). Mineclone2 focuses mainly on version 12.2. The world generation is sometimes much more impressive than in Minecraft due to the world size of 65536 blocks in all directions.
Even though there is no way around Minecraft in the end, Minetest is a fantastic alternative that I can highly recommend. Support for mods is built in. These are simply programmed in Lua. What a boon when you compare it to Minecraft.

Beyond the Linux PC: I was positively shocked at how well it ran CSGO in docked mode. And with Soul Calibur VI, FSR showed what it is capable of. It looked better than on my PS4. The Steam Deck is quite a beast in gaming mode.
