What they (rightfully) get shit for is not quality but quantity. Some DLCs only consist of adding 3 buttons (Dharma for EU4) or like 100 events (Friends and Foes for CK3) which more or less amounts to adding several assets and filling a JSON file with new text, not the big programming gameplay challenge it seems to be). People wouldn't mind so much if those DLCs sold for one buck. Alas it's not the case.
Worse thing is, since they went public, the content per dollar for their releases have gone a steady downward spiral, again, much like every other AAA publisher out there, so, no surprise about this shrinkflation. When you compare for example CK3's Northern Lords to CK2's Old Gods in terms of music, events, gameplay additions, it's... mind-boggling.

Quoting: Mountain ManI know Paradox gets a lot of flack for their seemingly endless DLC releases, but you have to admit, they do actively support their games for a very long time.I wouldn't call it a support out of kindness. Their whole business model is based on selling DLCs for years then selling it all over again when they release the next game, so it makes sense their games get a decade of updates, much like what EA did with The Sims 4.

As much as I want to, I'll believe it when I see it. Too many broken promises by greedy/lazy publishers.
Awaiting the good ole "but it works on Proton" moment.

Man, I've waited for this game for years.
Very cool to see an "AAA" game launching just fine on PC : decent performance (runs smoothly on a 6-year old rig), no microtransactions, no invasive DRM or kernel-level anti-cheat, good story/graphics, and an overall great experience with Proton.
I'm having a blast with it !

Is cheating that prevalent that it requires putting a cumbersome bloatware in your game ?

I always wondered. What's in it for the end-user ? (Wayland)
I mean, I'm aware it has a much more modern architecture since Xorg codebase dates back to the 90s, but I heard it still had tons of problems with NVIDIA's proprietary GPU driver.
As a gamer myself, I wonder what could be the consequences of such a bold move.

Quoting: melkemindDMCA is a US-only law. It doesn't apply abroad. It's true that other countries have copyright laws and there's some moderate amount of cooperation between anti-piracy authorities.Quoting: doragasuDMCA does not apply worldwide.True, but there's only 7 countries that don't recognize it. They'd have to restrict distribution to only those countries. And that doesn't preclude those countries from having their own copyright laws that might come into play.

Same for Discord with high CPU usage and log cluttering, same for Firefox unable to open html files located in /usr/local or extensions that stop working (VideoDownloadHelper). And I'm not talking about slightly longer load times... Snap is more trouble than it's worth.
