Quoting: ScattershotAll hail the glorious trade deal i suspect that will stop once the trade deal has been signed, however our copywrite laws do mirror the US ones David Cameron saw to that in 2014 with the Millenium act which made all the isps turn over their records about who downloaded what and introduced the three strikes rule. Though ISPS are not keen on using because they lose customers when they try to enforce it.Quoting: GuestThere are sort of equivalent laws in the UK, although what they'll look like 6 months from now who knows! Not to mention that our wonderful government seem perfectly happy to extradite citizens to the US for actions performed in the UK and not in contravention of UK law.

Quoting: DebianUserI see that publishers dont have enough ressources to port their games on Linux, but they have ressources to make DMCA for this kind of projects which could lead to more sales...I have some knowledge on this from a business point of view they view it as brand protection, what if the fan remake rule 34s everything or has anti gay or racist messaging. Now of course this project didnt but how would take 2 know that without playing it or investing the project. It's far easy to get a law firm to nuke it from orbit rather than bother investigating it. Which saves the corporation time and time is money.
Sad world.

Quoting: ArehandoroWere I Take-Two, or any other similar company, I would hire the developers. Reverse engineering is difficult and if they managed to also bring improvements and port the code to other systems other than Windows, I would be like: "Hell, work for me and let's make next GTA/Assasins/whatever even better!"But they dont want it on other platforms given the PS5 and the Xbox whatever the fuck is essentially a pc the windows port involves tweaking the xbox port to a very limited degree and viola windows console port or vice versa. They have no interest in supporting linux or mac they will leave that upto proton. Besides Take 2 would rather sell you a remastered port of vice city in fact they do sell a remastered version of vice city it does not have anywhere near the level of polish of this former project but its for sale.

mmmm but that does kind of defeat one of the main features of linux choice. Some people have the attitude of well its working fine now what if an update borks something especially if they are running mint/ zorin etc and have limited linux esperience. I know how to use timeshift as i have been using it for years but would a windows convert know ? probably not.

Quoting: richipMore rumours that Aspyr Media might be doing the next-gen KOTOR:They would need the licence from disney and that is unlikely given how much ubisoft Ea pay for the licence fee now

I just want Duke Nukem Forever... It wasn't a spectacular game - but I thought it wasn't as bad as people made out.
But it kind of was I am old enough to of played the og Duke 3d when it was new, way younger that i should of been as it was 18 rated and i think i was about 8/9 but the sequel was kind of trash 2 gun limit wait what the og let me have 11 guns plus a melee weapon Did not have the real version of the ripper, way to many turret sections and the jokes werent edgy so much as worryingly shite.
A Google product? I value my privacy, so I think I'll pass...
Really even knowing that your ISP tracks everything you do even when your using a vpn, they sell it same as google will privacy in 2021 means no internet no phone no credit card no debit card and everything paid for in cash and literally nobody does that now.

Quoting: slaapliedjeI can never understand why in the last few years especially, companies would still make a mac port, but not a Linux port. Even people I know who are diehard mac people buy Windows machines so they can play World of Warcraft.Mac still a bigger market than linux last count its 8 percent versus our 1.25 percent thats why
