Actually I am more excited to see what is coming in at the lower end. Specifically Athlon APU the 3000 G was a staggering surprise 720p gaming on 35 watt processor in esports titles i grant you but with only 3 graphics cores available and all for 40 pounds amazing. I am very interested to see what the next Athlon hold perhaps quad core with maybe an extra cu to make it a vega 4 if the pricing and thermals stay at those previous levels am def building rig based on that to see what it can do with overclocks.

Quoting: Liam DaweYes market share was always the issue before perhaps my post did not get across my point, combine low marketshare with proton that was not a factor 5 years ago and chances of getting native port went from say generously 25 percent to 0 and its not feral fault its pure capitalism that is at fault.Quoting: Whitewolfe80And that is great for them but as I stated Linux is not getting the ports anymore FACT, the reason for that am sure are many and varied however.I'm not arguing that we do have the ports any more, I was very clearly saying we don't and giving the real reason why. It feels like my post just didn't sink in...Proton was not the reason, because it happened long before it. Market share is the reason, it's the same as always.

Quoting: LungDragoSure Easy cheat and even punkbuster are barriers especially to having some of the bigger hitters on linux, as bad a company as it is having Warzone running on linux without a massive amount of work arounds would be a boon. That is certainly true but I think the issue with the TW ports is Feral have the containers pre set the engine has not really changed for the last five years so I imagine whenever they have a tw game it is a matter of tweaking their in house tools for the subtle changes. (Possibly where the older version comes from x build is more compatible with creating the port in the first place then they worry about updates after it ships)Quoting: Whitewolfe80Yeah, the market got harder for Feral, sadly. Proton tends to be easier - the annoying thing with their TW:Warhammer ports for me is that the Linux verions tend to be a patch or two behind Windows, which breaks Workshop mods.Quoting: gojulLooks that Feral has forgotten us, sadly. :-(They need to have agreements in order to port stuff since there yearly go to TW in this case Troy is exclusive to epic for a year and IO decided not to port Hitman 2 or newly announced 3 to Linux and there is not another Tomb Raider game coming they sadly have nothing to announce. Also I do not think Feral forgot us its more proton ate their lunch desert and tea all in one go. Why pay for a porting job when you can do nothing and codeweaver steam team will make it run for nothing. Do not give me to support the community they are a business and they need to turn a profit end of.
I still think they could find a niche of sorts with porting A) HW intensive games that have trouble running under Proton and/or benefit in general from increased perfomance by running native (like multiplayer games?) B) porting games with annoying stuff like anti cheats that also give Proton a hard time.

Quoting: Liam DaweFeral and Aspyr began to port less way before Proton, it's not the reason. Feral, like Aspyr, only got involved because of Steam Machines/SteamOS. They said so in our interviews ( Aspyr, Feral ), so it's not me speculating on that. The tail end of that has basically happened now with neither succeeding, market share didn't come with it and so the much bigger costly and time consuming ports for Linux just often don't make sense for them now. When you look at both of them, they've expanded greatly as I already said into mobile and Switch. And that is great for them but as I stated Linux is not getting the ports anymore FACT, the reason for that am sure are many and varied however. I maintain and of course it is just my opinion that Proton means we will see far far far fewer native ports. The drive for valve seems to be to get to a point where proton performance hit over native is negligible. Which I support the closer we get to that the more likely a market share development is because why pay the premium for windows rig when a free copy of your what ever distro takes your fancy play game as good as windows for nothing.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPOnly issue is there you miss out on it being freeQuoting: EhvisIn this case, it makes sense, though.Quoting: Eikehttps://twitter.com/feralgames/status/1292827642526408706Also immediately clear that the Linux release has been delayed. If not cancelled.
Right now, the game is only available on EGS, which doesn't support Linux.
Wouldn't make sense for any publisher to pay Feral to do a Linux port when it can't be sold anywhere (except maybe on Feral's own store, but why would publishers care about that).
Just wait until it comes out on Steam, chances are that then there will be a Linux version.

Great news that valve keep investing in linux, I would love to know what the return is for valve corp on linux investment. Do we spend enough for them to retain profit even after monthly wage bill and investments, in graphics compatibility and innovation or do they make a loss on it each qtr banking on the long game.

Well am def not the market here but if its a quality case and cooler master don't want to make it part of their core line up hell if you have the cash why not. I have seen some amazing projects with the pi computers and they are very versatile its just i know i would never use it.
