Total War: WARHAMMER II will release for Linux on November 20th

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoThat depends of your concept about what is an AAA game.
For me, games without Spanish voice overs are not AAA, and it doesn't matter how famous the franchise is.
This is an indie game for me... The same goes for The Witcher franchise.

Anyway! For tastes, the colours.
Really? Total War indie games? It's not about taste, the AAA category it's about how much you invest to make the game. Of course, that doesn't implies that it will be an excellent game, but still on this case means that a game that has a big player base is getting a native version in our system. And that my friend is one of the pillar base in order to make Linux a gaming platform.

I really don't like people getting pissed off because of "another total war game". Guys, We're getting native AAA games on our platform, you should all be happy even if it's not a game you like or you're whiling to play. In fact, I remember that not too long ago that some users were worried because Linux gaming was losing momentum, being one the concerns that less and less AAA where released in our platform...

So, lets be happy for this new AAA and let's try to rethink before posting any negative comment for this type of news.

The narrator voice sounds like the same one as in Stanley parable. Also, story points towards something like a comma state on which you have to escape (or recover from)... I'll put this one my wishlist.

Feral Interactive are teasing a new Linux port, time to start guessing

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoConsidering that a windows game purchased on the Steam Linux client and played via Proton counts as a Linux sale, I wonder if Feral is getting their cut right now for Life is Strange 2 running on Proton, just because they have the publishing rights for Linux.
Once they announce the port, they get a part (at least that's what Liam said once).

I think that they live it easy for us:

And you know, Shadow of the Tomb Raider story is located in Peru (or with an Inca like civilization).

Quoting: LeopardSteamPlay has a nice feature you probably didn't notice it ; it picks the known working Proton version for games. Which means , let's say DOOM 2016 whitelisted against Proton 3.7 ; it will use it unless you say otherwise to Steam Client.

Which eliminates regression possibility related to Wine.
What would really be needed would be a per-game setting.
You can change the used Proton version globally, but not per game, which can be rather annoying.
I think you can. Each game gets their own proton prefix (aka wine prefix) on which you can do all the configurations you need. You can find it on: Steam/steamapps/compatdata/XXXX ("XXXX" is the game id).
That isn't really the convenience I'm looking for when using Steam Play. Anything other than plug'n'play and settings in the Steam interface itself won't do.

If I wanted that, I could just use Wine as usual. Which I still do for non-Steam software.
Ok, but I just mentioned it because you say that you can't make configs per game when you can do it.

I agree that a Steam client tool would be better, but we also have third party tools that helps (https://asciinema.org/a/B1c5EdNOA3njQTRLtDVtYH9XK). From my point of view, proton is still much more easier than having to deal with plain wine and a big improvement to gaming on Linux.

Snapshot Games have cancelled the Linux version of Phoenix Point

... Linux requiring "specialised graphics programming" as it uses OpenGL and not DirectX ...
Let me understand this...

1. A developer wants to make a multiplatform game
2. Having a graphic API that is multiplatform he decides to use different one on each OS he will support
3. Finally he states that he cannot support Linux because he needs "specialised graphics programming" because he can't use Dx on Linux due that it's an specialised graphics API of Windows.
4. Sounds... logic :|

GOG and Steam are both running a Polish celebration sale

Definitely there are some games that I will grab, but I'm still unsure to get The Witcher 3. I think I'll wait for the Winter sale for this one.
As far as I tested it through a shared library, it runs without an issue with SteamPlay, so you can give it a spin, definitely.
Yep, I know that works flawlessly now, but I think I still have some resentment with RED for not making the Native version. Either case, I bought the original The Witcher just for show a little of goodwill :P (and also because it was way too cheap XD)

Wort to mention: Looks like Heliborn developer are Polish and they have a 40% discount. If you like helicopters in a mix of simulation + arcade, this is your game!

They should make a notebook with Ryzen cpu (one of the g series). Anyway, wish I could get one, but my current country laws will make the price way too high.
