That's a bit different then :P Try opening Synaptic Package Manager (it's installed by default on Mint but IIRC it needs to be installed separately on Ubuntu) and check for broken packages with Custom Filters --> Broken. You can try fixing them by doing Edit --> Fix Broken Packages

I tried what you suggested, but nothing helps. Damn thing refuses to work. Synaptic says that there is no broken packages. At the and nothing changed..
Never mind... I will reinstall the OS when I have the time, and that will certainly not be so soon. But, advantage is that DXVK will be even better until that time. :P

Maybe you installed steam using .deb package from their web?

And it's just a coincidence that Microsoft bought their way in a few months earlier. Oh and Microsoft bought Github.

And now this.

Linux will not survive this as Linux. Microsoft will either control it or break it into a thousand pieces. Red Hat and Cannonical might even be on board. Google sure as hell will be.

Linux kernel can survive anything, the GPL license is the guarantee. We may have to change the name (or they may have to change it), but the open source core will be there for ever and for everyone.

Microsoft is doing all this stuff because they know that cloud SaaS is the future for their desktop platform and Linux is thousands miles away at the server side than their current systems. It would have no sense to spend a trillion of money to get NT kernel to the place that Linux is, not to mention the cost of training and propaganda they would need. They know that it's a war that they cannot win, so everything points towards that they will start moving resources from their proprietary software to FOSS.

I don't like Microsoft products and enterprise strategies (not to mention that I don't plan to buy anything from them), but I think it would be stupid to not accept and use the free resource they could provide. In the FOSS (and mostly in the Linux kernel) is quite difficult that they could make any harm.

Anyway, it's still very early to get any conclusion. Not to mention that one thing could be their strategy for Azure and other way more different could be for the gaming department. I still believe that they won't help in anyway to make multi platform DX.

Could be, but I feel that they are becoming irrelevant as a main platform because of their own actions. If they would want to avoid all their current problems with W10 (which is one of the main reason they are "losing" market), they would have to build again all their QA department that they destroyed around 2012. From my point of view, GitHub buying points towards to make stronger their Azzure platform.

Definitely this game Studios acquisitions were made in order to make stronger their store (which means to attack Steam revenues & market), but I'm not sure if their store will be Windows exclusive for the times to come.

Microsoft has a feet on every boat. They know that the future is in the cloud and that's why they created Azzure and have good relations with Linux now. Their current behavior marks that in a far away future it's quite probable that may end up ditching their NT kernel and start using Linux (of course, with all their proprietary subsystems over it). Not to mention that Linux systems has make big improvements to be a better gaming platform and if you add the big support for virtual environments and network subsystems it has, it makes it a way more appealing system to develop games in the cloud.

Antitrust is definitely not a concern for them, they can avoid any problem with many bribes (as they always did). Right now I feel that their main concern is to keep on good health their main revenue source, which is keeping alive their subsystems service monopoly on this cloud-based service transition.

I really do hope Valve have some serious other games lined up. They have some seriously good IP that need a refresh and continuation like Left 4 Dead 3, Team Fortress 3, Half-Life 3, Portal 3 and so on.

I could happily go for some L4D3.

They need more than Artifact (even though I've no doubt it will be a ridiculous hit) and In The Valley of Gods.

Well, I'm not so worry of this bought's so far, they're not loosing any of their top sellers fortunately... But I will get if other publishers starts making agreements with Microsoft to boycott steam store with other publishers (Fallout 76 is smelly...).

Microsoft is big, but not big enough to buy all the big fish out there. And if they keep focusing on trying to buy franchises but not to improve their desktop OS, they will end up losing the ball.

The hillarious part is when next weak they will announce Total War Warhammer II and Life is Strange 2, games we already know they are working on, and they will reveal to everyone they were wasting our time...

I remember that, in the past, Feral used to ask their followers on facebook about what title they would like to get in the future. That strategy wasn't bad, but it didn't give as many answers as they get with this mystery game (in fact, can't remember when was the last time the did this question on facebook).

Like it or not, they get a lot of feedback & free publicity with this strategy. Don't know why you feel so annoyed by this. As others already told you, you can just avoid getting in to Feral teasing news (maybe Liam can add a tag in the article title like: "[mystery warning]" ).

Hope that one of the clues answers is Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I really want to play the last part of the saga.

I have no idea which could be the game out of the my SotTR wish (but a Just Cause 3 wouldn't be another bad wish, doesn't it?). But anyway, whatever comes out from Feral I'll end up buying it so... be prepared my dear wallet.
