Quoting: EgonautThat's why you don't support that toxic guy Garry and everyone who's working with him.
Meh, he is straight forward, blunt and sarcastic. Toxic isn't really the right word.
Calling Linux (and by that their users) a second class [External Link] isn't toxic? Yeah sure, defend that guy further if you want, I don't.
But he is correct, the Linux version is a second class citizen for them. There is nothing toxic with that, second class citizen in computer speak only means that it's a lower priority, it's not a derogatory term.
He mention that some comments below. But it's completely unprofessional and idiotic to say that you don't test Linux version because there is not enough people playing it (unfortunately, he never speaks about sales percents). What's the point to make a release of something but not even test it before release? If his idea is to have the community as QA, it would be smarter to ask directly to the community.

Fortunately I never gave this guy my money. Sorry, but I think that we should spend money on guys that gives us the minimum QA and doesn't use stupid excuses to cover their own ineptitude of software development.

Does Unity make it easy to extract resources or something?

Quoting: PhlebiacThe upward trend for AMD on both CPU and GPU is interesting to see. Also, looks like I'll need a RAM upgrade soon. :-p
Yes. I just wondered why there are still ~7% using the proprietary driver from AMD. Does it still provide any benefit?
As far I can tell, I only see benefits for OpenCL and maybe on some games with Vulkan (but you'll end up with less game support in the latter). Anyway, you can have Mesa OpenGL implementation living along with AMDGPU-PRO OpenCL implementation (and probably with AMDGPU-PRO Vulkan too, but never tried that...).

The game really use almost all the resources of the original game (or should I call it "the prequel"?). The story it's kinda "meh", but the devs made a really nice work with graphics and sound.

Minecraft 'Update Aquatic' is a huge update which brings the new launcher officially to Linux

Quoting: GuppyThe Android version is the bedrock version of the code, that's the platform they wrote it for originally.

Are you quite done trolling now?
Not trolling, maybe the problem here is that you didn't say: "I'm able to run the Android x86 pocket edition and that's the version I play, which is what we call 'Bedrock' version".

Quoting: GuppyI guess that's not bedrock edition running on my Ubuntu desktop then, clearly you know better -.-'
I still don't see anything like this in the links you posted.
It's a git repository, you compile it and run it..

It does require that you own the game and login to Google play so it automatically download the correct APK. All of this is explained on the page in the readme/wiki.

Not sure why you are beeing so difficult about it, I am not forcing you to play this edition or any thing..
Wait, an APK? So it's running an android version? How do you know then that it uses Bedrock edition?

Quoting: skinnyrafI hope that the Bedrock Edition continues to have limited support for mods. Modding community is the main reason why the Java Edition still exists.
I can imagine that maintaining two so drastically different versions is quite expensive and Microsoft would prefer to stop development of the Java Edition. However, as long as modding and YouTube videos of heavily modded Minecraft are the main draw to Minecraft, we're safe.
They stated a few times now that the java edition will only be community driven - of course they then done the exact opposite by moving at least one developer from bedrock to java.

Current conspiracy theories are that they are trying to bring the two versions enough in line that switching to bedrock wont be much of an issue for vanilla players, and at that point abandon the java version.

Personally I prefer bedrock for two reasons;

1) Bugs are concidered bugs, they aren't kept ingame just because some whiney youtuber has built his channel around the bug.
2) It's available on so many platforms, and yes that includes Linux even if unofficially ( Old: https://github.com/MCMrARM/mcpelauncher-linux [External Link] , rewrite: https://github.com/minecraft-linux [External Link] )
I declare myself ignorant of this engine, but I don't like the supported OS list in their wiki: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Bedrock_Edition [External Link]

The Linux Programming Interface is a classic! If you like low level programming, this book is the bible for Linux devs. Paying just 30 usd for that book is an excellent deal!

Quoting: FeistBought it! The game seems very promising and day1 linux-support is juat another reason to give my own support. However, my backlog has really started to grow lately so I doubt I´ll be playing it anytime soon.
Looks like they answer your question in May video XD
