First time I hear about this shop at all. Still no idea where it was located. EST is a hint but that's it.

OBS Studio 26.1 in testing with a Release Candidate out now, adds Virtual Camera on Linux

Hehe, yeah, the problems caused by running multiple instances is especially important with the virtual camera plugin because all instances will start to dump frames to that sink (if this plugin is auto started) :D

welp. That was one of the worst trailers I've seen in a while. Grand "action" strategy

It's hard to believe but Counter-Strike has turned 20 and it's still going strong

Heh, oh I remember. Especially what German TV had to tell us about "Killer Games". Gold pieces like "Mord per Mausklick" (Murder by mouse click) can still be found on YT warning about this new dangerous sub culture :woot:

Quoting: aokamiSeemed like a nice Linux hex-grid advance wars, though not a fan of "USA will once again save the world" even if that's against a fantasy/sci-fi threat. I might support the game for the Linux work from devs nonetheless, I just hope the story gets an interesting plot twist.
I've a feeling that this plot twist will happen. It's way to much over the top (murica, murica, xploshions, moar xploshions) to be just the usual patriot thingy.

I may like that. The last hex installation I played was not so fun even with it's roots clearly being Battle Isle and Co from the Amiga gaming age where I fell in love with this type of games :D

Quoting: ValckX3's graphic novel-style was perfect in my opinion; with X4 they went straight into uncanny valley.
True, true.

Wonder what that glow bug on 5600 XT is. That's the card I run and I didn't notice any display corruption.

Island survival game Stranded Deep gets a huge update expanding the world

Quoting: g000hI was very tempted to buy Stranded Deep during the Steam Summer Sale. It was close to the top of my "to buy" list. I find it an appealing survival game, but there's one thing that puts me off - I'm not so keen on how your character's controls work, interacting with items in the game seems to be flawed.
I did buy it some day and had a hard time to understand the controls (especially since there was no explaining) but in the end I really liked the way this works. Especially building with the quick menu that works based on items you currently _see_ so gathering materials for a project on one pile is really a smooth experience.

That menu tho… I played this _for days_ before I found out that there are several building menus that can be toggled.

It's still one of the better survival games IMHO. There's a lot going on that the player can find out.

OBS Studio adds in better noise suppression thanks to RNNoise in the 26.0 release out now

Quoting: scaineYeah I... know? Like I said, I wish you could set it up in silent mode, and automatically start the replay buffer. Right now, you have start OBS, then press "start replay buffer". I'm just being lazy!
Do you know about obs-websocket [External Link]? This may scratch your itch. Afair that's used by e.g. http://touch-portal.com/ [External Link]

Quoting: scaineYeah, as wvstolzing notes, you can still do the virtual camera on Linux, you just need to install v4l2loopback and the obs-v4l2sink. It's a bit fiddly to get working, true, but it's a tick box thereafter, which is really nice.
This reminds me that I was going to write an article on this. Got it set up for Fedora after some fiddling and now it's basically my everyday driver for various video conferences on Zoom, BBB, Jitsi, Teams, whatever.

Edith says: There's a nice article on pulse-effects over at Fedora Magazine btw: https://fedoramagazine.org/tune-up-your-sound-with-pulseeffects-speakers/ [External Link]
