Cross platform Jagged Alliance 2 reimplementation 'Stracciatella' has a new release out

I understand one wants to stay close to vanilla, no worry.

Simply here, 1.13 exists and is massively popular, and is quite the "best tactical ever", so, me myself, i’m sad not to be able to play it via Straccitella.

Hi,

Can you play 1.13 with it ?

(edit : i tried, and searched, and it seems it’s vanilla only. Big down, as 1.13 brings quite a lot to the table, even from the Options screen.

Plus, the french version 1.13 supports special characters like éèôà etc, while Stracciatella doesn’t.

Plus, the "large resolution" seems to be the same as 1.13 : if you play high, the game window goes tiny with big black all around in fullscreen, so worthless more or less.

With 1.13, i play 1280*720 while my screen is 1920*1080, and it’s "fine", my eyes are bleeding only after a long session.

Would love a Stracciatella for native Linux launcher + some options, with 1.13 for everything it brings, with french because it’s my first language.

What have you been playing? Have a Sunday chat with us

This game was nice back in early 2013 when i first played it.
Today it’s one of the best of its kind, if not the best.

Tactical Troops: Anthracite Shift offers up top-down combat tactics out now

Grid less is too rare !

The excellent tactical games Age of Fear (4th iteration on its way), and the superheroic Sentinels of Freedom (huge Chapt2 update landed just today), are doing that, quite well, too.

Stellaris: Nemesis expansion and the free 3.0 'Dick' update are out now

As a non-native english, Dick is never firstly a first name for my brain. As far as i know, argot (slang ?) words and very polite "hello/thanks", are the first to be learnt by foreigners for any given language. I think myself i know several "bad words" in maybe 8-10 languages. All the aliens/strangers/foreigners i’ve met, some from very different cultures, are all the same minded. Say please, then say shit, haha !

And i’m totally fine with it...

Anyway, thanks for your inputs, sorry for the out-of-topic digression.

Why english speakers name things (and people...) "Dick" with all the side-meanings associated ?

OpenHV, a free and open source RTS based on the unreleased Hard Vacuum has a stable build

It’s actually a quite good game, but playing it i feel i like to replay Rusted Warfare instead.
Anyway, great to have more choices, with (almost) modern GUI controls.

Everytime i play a RTS, something kills me though : the "drag formation" function, like the excellent BAR (Beyond All Reason) does. You just select the troops, drag a shape, and the troops will align on it. So perfectly intuitive, i barely can play any other RTS without it.

First time i played this game was early 2012, and since then i’ve launched it at least once a year.

What have you been playing recently, come tell your thoughts

Some Siralim Ultimate, but i prefer to hold until full release.

A lot of Hex of Steel (previous name was Operation Citadel), a wargame, very active French dev, and a Discord with great "mods mood".

Started to play Surviving Mars after i got the full package for 16€. Slow paced and boring and interesting all together, mixed felling but i think i like it.

Pax Nova, via Proton, and it seems way better than the 50-60% positive reviews on Steam say from earlier versions. New free DLC this week, plus several big updates with fixes and balances, and an incoming "visual improvement" update soon (tm).
