Mega Crit (Slay the Spire) and Null Games now funding Godot Engine

By - | Views: 28,417

More good news for the free and open source Godot Engine, as they've announced two more fun names have joined in to help fund further development.

The first is Null Games who say they are "part of a new wave of indie publishers that put developers first" and their "publishing agreement has some of the most developer-friendly terms there are". They've joined Godot as a Silver Sponsor.

Next up is Mega Crit, developer of the popular Slay the Spire, who have joined Godot as a Gold Sponsor. Recently Mega Crit released Dancing Duelists after abandoning Unity for Godot as their first test game released using Godot and it's quite fun.

We also recently had Robot Gentleman dev of 60 Seconds! join up with Godot, and Terraria developer Re-Logic donated a big sum too along with ongoing support.

Going by the current Godot Development Fund they've dipped just below €50K a month now from 1,331 members and 15 sponsors. So it's still going strong, which is good news as Godot 4.2 is fast approaching with Godot 4.2 beta 6 released only yesterday and they say the "4.2 stable release is drawing near".
