Quoting: PenglingThese all were part of the Summer Sale riddles. I don't remember the pitches but they were all quite good. Anyway, the clue for that one was:Quoting: soulsourceUltra-short design pitch for "It's probably fine":I'd play it! :woot:
You play a notoriously bad driver who has been hired to do deliveries by car. What the character does not know though is that the delivery business is just a dummy company for a car repair workshop, and that the driver's real job is to cause small accidents, bringing more customers for the repair shop. Your job as the player is to guide the notoriously bad driver through the city, and you need to drive bad enough to cause actual damage (repair costs are your score), but not so bad that your character can't decept themself into thinking "it's probably fine" and continue their "important delivery" without stopping.
Once the driver starts to actually doubt that it's probably fine, your turn is over, and your score gets counted.
No actions to take or choices to make. This passive adventure prefers that you wait.
Total War: Warhammer III cautiously builds upon a tried and true formula

Quoting: slaapliedjeI am surprised that reskin didn't include DLC for individual troops, and then a virtual painting program. I mean that is really what Warhammer is all about, right? Ha, I bet if they could figure out how to DRM STL files, they could sell a digital troop + STL and people would buy them...This is an excellent point. Also an important intersection between Warhammer users and Linux users: customization.

I think the secret here may lie in the Total War part of it, where people don't seem to have enough of it. Be it TW: Shogun, TW: Three Kingdoms, TW: Troy, it seems that each launch is successful enough even though it's essentially another TW game.

Quoting: Deleted_UserAlthough i was a huge fantasy fan in younger days and even played Tabletop Warhammer myself i've left this series out. I just never got hyped and i didnt even know why.... and you are being charitable. There has been certain gaming-focused media that only devoted half a sentence to the game, mentioned in passing as "a reskin of Total War".
Now i cross fingers that CA will develop a new game with historic setting, maybe along with a good ship to ship combat. Something in the Victorian Age is on my wishlist for so long.

By the time we can buy an RDNA2 all-AMD laptop from a Linux-friendly vendor, there will be already RDNA3.
Also regarding NVidia, I have to agree with the sentiment. My experience with NVidia drivers on Linux hasn't been good either, this is why I am so attentive to news on RDNA2.

Quoting: LinuxerGood thing! But i'd more likely take an all AMD machine. It seems that ever since the launch of RDNA2 cards almost a year and a half ago, every other device has gotten it before the laptops. First it was the consoles, then the desktop cards were barely available, then it was the Steam Deck, now it's finally getting to some laptops but very few models.

Must have been really hateful comments too, I actually went to the blog [External Link] now and noticed that many posts criticizing the art style still remain. So it wasn't those that were deleted, but other posts that contained personal attacks.
I wonder if people have become spoiled and desensitized by communicating with front-ends of soulless corporations, which seem to be able to take virtually any amount of hate and abuse in their webs and forums, only to politely reply "we are aware of the concerns and blah blah..."
... And now don't understand how to give feedback to an actual person.

Quoting: subIt all boils down to "That's why we can't have nice things".It really is a pity. I wonder what pleasure does anyone derive from ruining a developer's motivation like that.

Steam Deck multiplying the production and still barely catching up with orders, and then more GPD Win's, more AYA Neo's, OneXPlayer, AYN Odin, and Ambernic and...
... and yet some were still thinking that there's no market for a hand-held PC.

Inscryption from Daniel Mullins Games now supported on Linux

This is the indie game fantasy made true. Lots of pretenders, but, at the end of the day, just Hollow Knight, and Inscryption. It is really one of the best games out there right now, of any genre. It is just such a joy to count it in the Linux native list.
Oh, and motherf* NO SPOILERS!!

Quoting: scaineI'm eight hours into this - it's superb. The core game mechanic is cool enough, but the added escape-room stuff is so well done, so well integrated, the whole thing becomes a masterpiece.I already counted this game as native a while ago in the TCG article, since I have played the Linux beta start to finish, and also Kaycee's mod without any issues.

Total War: WARHAMMER III released for Linux with a port from Feral

As we speak, we have games like Street Fighter V, Them's Fightin' Herds(below in the news), in which you can play with/against console players, Linux, even Mac.
My respect to Feral, but very disappointed with Creative Assembly and with this game.
My respect to Feral, but very disappointed with Creative Assembly and with this game.
Currently though, it seems to be the lowest rated in the series, with even Total War: WARHAMMER II regularly seeing double the amount of players.I think if you add the players of II and III right now, it is probably still less players than how many were playing II before the launch. Imagine launching a new game in the series that discourages people to play even previous games of the series.

Very happy about the warm welcome to this game, and very surprising considering it's quite an old movie/franchise at this point.
And yeah, let's just say that the game launched with lots of bugs, and not just the "alien" bugs.

For what it's worth, I started using Ubuntu some 11 years ago, and stuck to Ubuntu for quite a few years. This year around February I installed Ubuntu 21 again. I would agree with Ken's statement that they haven't let it slide.
On the other hand, we users have started distro-hopping and some of the distros have really brought up some really nice and unique features to the table. And then we started comparing Ubuntu to those. I'd say that Ubuntu just has more competition nowadays.
