Quoting: scaineI think Cheeseness mentioned on Discord that he's had some (small) contribution to this one too.Yep! I've been doing contract work on this one. Very happy to be supporting Defiant alumni.
Quoting: Purple Library GuyWait, in XCOM 2 the aliens already won before the beginning? I feel like I was playing a different game.My reading of New New XCOM was that it reframed New XCOM as all entirely being a simulation run on you by Advent at the facility you're rescued from in the tutorial mission (with the implication being that that information was what they used to defeat humanity and take over earth).

Another thing to note about this game was that it was made on Linux (the lead developer uses Ubuntu).
The speedrun options screen also allows in-game dialogue to be turned off if you hadn't spotted that (unless you're referring to the 40 second scroll only the opening of the first level that can be over in about 5 or so if you hold down the fire button - I don't think anything lets you further skip that).
Quoting: Craggles086failed to comprehend that UP was Thrust. This is only when "classic mode" controls are enabled - I don't think that's the default?
Quoting: Craggles086Starting again I finally realised that left stick was not just steering but also thrust, which I hateEnabling "classic mode" might be what you're after then, but the previous comment suggested you were already using that? Here's both for reference.

If you weren't aware, Hive Time (like all of my games) was made on Linux too.

Quoting: whizseLook at the list of supported platforms at the end of the trailer, and the order they are listed in! That's the way to do it!Doesn't make sense to sort them by anything other than alphabetical order IMO (looking forward to doing Amiga ports of my games someday :D )!

Disclaimer: I was contracted to help get Linux builds of this game off the ground and into people's hands, and I assisted with the Steam release as well.
As mentioned above, the Itch version does not come with the extras/enhancements included in the Steam version.
Edit: The game's lead developer has also had some personal experiences of a terrorist attack, which might be useful context to know, but I think the game's writing and narratives do a good job of speaking for themselves.
Quoting: JanneDid you try it? It sounds like it could be either trite or very profound. If it's helpful to know, Closed Hands is available under a pay-what-you-want model on Itch if you'd like to get a feel for the game before deciding whether it's something you'd like to buy or not.
