Quoting: AwesamLinuxAs long as Humble continues providing the monthly games as Steam keys, then I will probably continue subscribing and pausing/cancelling whenever needed.I would also consider Green man Gaming btw, even with the 20% Humble discount on top of the sales I sometimes get better prices in there. For example I consistently see better end prices for "The Elder Scrolls Online" DLCs and other Bethesda games during sales than the other mentioned stores.
But those that are looking for other legit bundle sites, I recommend taking a look at Fanatical and Indiegala. [...]

So timing, and making good use of such timingm, pushed a critical role here too.
And of course, unlike others, it delivered.

Quoting: EhvisDon't think anybody expected it to do this well. It's a pretty good game as far as escape rooms go, but I think it's the room editer/workshop support that make this game really appealing.Indeed, but regarding the "room editer/workshop" it's most specially the timing for it. It was released soon after lunch, along with a big contest for TOP 10 rooms. It reached black friday right after that contest and the winter sales with a big number of workshop levels including and a bonus Christmas level right after new years eve...

acording to the FAQ, the classics will still have the 20% discount.
The new account will start with 10% and increasing per subsequent renewal...
Besides the app having both trove (DRM-free) and Humble Games Collection (presumely non drm-free) and beeing windows only, there another anoying thing for the pausers out there:
Still from the FAQ
(emphasis mine). So pausing a month you'll miss the 20% discount on the next months. It will then rise to 20% after 12 continous months without skipping...

Quoting: 3zekielHmm one thing that confuses me, they say you will still be billed in dollar if you are on humble classic... But if there is only one tier, then what is the point of classic ? And why still in dollar ?~
Honestly, in the last year, the only times I did not skip was because I forgot to. I kept my subscription for classic "Just in case", and because I thought I might grab the discount one month if there was a decent game I did not already have. And it never happened.
So, I guess I can just cancel now.

All active members of Humble Choice will receive up to a 20% discount on the Humble Store when the changes go live on February 1st. All new members will receive up to a 10% discount on the Humble Store, with a growing discount rate based on consecutive months unlocked, as seen below
Besides the app having both trove (DRM-free) and Humble Games Collection (presumely non drm-free) and beeing windows only, there another anoying thing for the pausers out there:
Still from the FAQ
Can I still pause? What is skipping?
Pausing a month has officially been renamed "Skip" to better reflect the functionality provided. Just like with pausing, you can choose to skip a single month of Humble Choice while maintaining your plan. Once the current month of Humble Choice concludes, your plan will continue as usual and bill for the following month unless skipped. **Skipping also resets your growing discount back to 10%** if a higher percentage has been reached.

Amazon hiring for Proton / Wine and Linux developers for streaming service Luna

You can already stream your Steam games from one device into the other. And with Nvidia Geforce NOW or Shadow you can already play a sizeable portion of your catalogue, even if your hardware could not.
I would hope, that if needed, they could lauch something by the time of a Steam Deck 2nd gen (with a cheaper stream only device tier). They also mentioned various other steam hardware/different takes on the deck on the horizon, and are also heavily invested on VR.
So I'm not currently scared, as they seem to be covering a lot of fronts. (VR, streaming, coop, chromebooks). Hopefully their proton/wine efforts also go into Box86 then they would also be covered if all world goes ARM)
But it is nice to see other players' also benefiting/contributing to the wine/proton ecossystem.
EDIT: Added Box86 paragraph.

Quoting: mphuZI have no doubt they're thinking of something and have been steadily building the foundations. Whatever they build, it should capitalize on the users exisiting catalogue and work with 99,5% of it (where steam machines 1.0 failed).Quoting: Liam DaweI made a prediction / hope on a Valve streaming service back in 2018.Sure. After all, streaming is the future.
New players like Google and Amazon have already entered here. Microsoft is also pulling up.
If Valve doesn't launch its streaming service in the next year or two, they may lose everything. And no Linux will save them. That's why I'm a little scared for Valve. I hope Gabe and Co know what they are doing and will not miss the moment.

ChimeraOS 27 is out with touch-screen improvements for the AYA NEO

Lately I've been using my desktop systems with Manjanro and installed their chimera's "steamcompositor-plus" and "chimera" (former steam-buddy) scripts from AUR to get the same seamless SteamOS experience if needed (without the auto-update) and a full desktop for work.
Though for an exclusive tv gaming box, plain chimera is still by recomendation.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyOn a side note, does anyone else find it kind of amusing that someone's doing a stickler-for-the-details lawsuit over a game that glorifies and indeed is entirely about violent lawbreaking?:woot: Indeed! For a moment I totally forgot what "Grand Theft A." was about ... totally amusing indeed!

Quoting: denyasis4e only seems balked at by 3rd edition die hards, and people who loved Passive Defense (I am one of those and think the feel of the game changes, but there are definitely some nice things about 4e.)Now that you mention 4e I got curious. What do you think of 13th Age? I had the idea it is some kind of D&D 4.5 and it is also in humble bundle.
Quoting: denyasisAlthough, I'm a sucker for a good source book, especially sci Fi. Not a lot of good ones out there... I have to check it outIf it were not for shipping rates, having the beginner box with those extra cardboard stand-ups minis and bases would be a nice combo. The fantasy one was incredibely useful when the groups had no minis of their own.
