Steam Replay gives you an overview of your 2022 gaming habits

Here, you can take a look at mine. Nothing remarkable.

Sadly, it pulled too early, because I've been playing Mass Effect 2 on Legendary Edition pretty much non-stop since last week. It would've ranked higher.

I wish Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't so prominent. I didn't hate the game, but I didn't love it either. Yet, I put enough hours into it that it gets a spotlight. Ah well.

Oh, one last addendum to mine; don't expect RetroArch to go up again. I ran into problems with the RetroArch Flatpak back in Late Spring, and used the Steam version for a while; hence the playtime. Nowadays, I run the Flatpak again. The Steam version still lacks the melonDS core, which is the only core I use for DS games.

I only use Plasma these days, but I still love Xfce. Cool beans.

The best Linux distribution for gaming in 2023

I would recommend a flavor like Kubuntu over Ubuntu, especially for a new user. Plasma is going to look more "sane" than GNOME, which is something I can attest to from back when I first tried Linux.

Cemu emulator for Wii U now provides an AppImage

I'm not a fan of AppImage, personally. They're arguably more portable than Flatpak, but they lack Flatpak's sandboxing. The only AppImage I use is for Balena Etcher, because there's not Flatpak available.

Steam on Chromebook is now in Beta with AMD support
3 Nov 2022 at 8:21 pm UTC

Since I no longer have a problem with using Google software and services, I've thought about getting a Chromebook to try out. I have a Nokia Android tablet that I like, and I'm interested in buying Google's Pixel Tablet whenever it comes out. But maybe a Chromebook might work better for what I use my tablet for. I have a T440p ThinkPad that I like, but that's not something I consider portable. It also can't run Android apps.

All that being said, making Steam available on more platforms can only be a good thing, in my opinion.

Steam Deck pushed Linux to the highest share on Steam in years

I haven't used Windows on any of my devices in over two years. Hopefully, Valve continues boosting and improving Linux gaming; and I can continue staying away from Windows.

Elon Musk completes Twitter takeover, Nextcloud to ship their own social network app

I deleted my Twitter account a couple days ago. I had it for years, but pretty much never used it. I'm just not a social media person, and I actively dislike Twitter.

Signed up with Mastodon back in August and used it for a while. I like it better than Twitter, but I eventually ran into the same problem; I'm not a social media person. However, I will keep my Mastodon (Fosstodon) account active, in case I decide to use it again.
