Linux kernel 6.0 is out now

Now that I've left EndeavourOS behind and am back on Ubuntu LTS, it will be a while before I'm on the 6.0 kernel. It also means it'll be a while before I can buy and enjoy one of the new Intel GPUs.

I'm a patient man though.

I dislike NVIDIA, and will never buy any of their GPUs.

However, I do think this is good news.

Quoting: CatKiller
Quoting: CyborgZetaInteresting that Ubuntu's back in 2nd place, and both Ubuntu 20.04 and Linux Mint have disappeared entirely.
Ubuntu was in first place last month.
That's not what it showed for August, based on Liam's last survey article.

It was SteamOS followed by Arch, according to this. Unless, of course, you're combining Ubuntu 22.04 and 20.04 and just ranking "Ubuntu". Steam treats different Ubuntu releases as separate, as do I, but eh. It's not something worth arguing over.

I wish all Cloud gaming would die.

Call me a dinosaur, insult me, whatever. I don't care. I will never accept streaming games from someone else's hardware, in addition to the "always online" mandate. People who mandate an Internet connection are people who've never had to deal with a spotty connection.

I'm open to buying an A770 when it releases. Depending on availability and price.

Could this be retroactively added to Mass Effect: Legendary Edition? If not, I don't care; I hate EA.

Linux user share on Steam continues the slow climb, SteamOS rises

I don't think I've gotten the survey on my Steam Deck yet, but I have gotten it on my PC, where I'm using the Flatpak runtime.

And speaking of the Flatpak runtime, the freedesktop SDK recently updated to 22.08 so the Steam Flatpak now has access to Mesa 22.
