Steam Deck support is now on the roadmap for Enshrouded
14 Mar 2024 at 5:24 am UTC

Quoting: SalvatosGood, good. I have my eye on this one, but I want to give it more time in the oven. Them paying attention to Steam Deck should ensure that it runs well on Linux in general as well :)
I wished more game developers took the time to pay more attention to the Steam Deck because anything they do to make it work better is a plus in my book and may tempt me to buy their games from them over anything else.

Get a bunch of Saints Row and Red Faction in this Humble Bundle

Copped this bundle

Good thing that I only have one of the games listed already in my library but don't mind padding it some more. Thanks, Liam

Quoting: ToddLNow, I do wonder if any of these kernel changes will make it into the Steam Deck because I'm curious to see if having the Xe drivers will make certain games that use it run better.
The driver changes shouldn't be relevant to the Steam Deck, because the Xe driver is for Intel graphics, and the Steam Deck uses AMD graphics.
You're right. I got it confused with XeSS and somehow made the mistake of thinking of Xe drivers being the same thing.

I have seen some arc cards for cheap and I would like to know how your testing goes because if they're good enough for gaming, then I might consider getting one of these.

It looks like Far Cry Primal since it seems to be mentioned in the release notes.

Check out the Humble Heroines Bundle with A Plague Tale: Innocence, Chorus and more

One thing to note about Scars Above is that you'll need to install the VC++ files from Protontricks if you're playing on the Steam Deck since the game will fail to launch without it.

Nintendo DS emulator DraStic became free of charge after Yuzu case

I guess they took DraStic measures to make it free (and eventually, open source) so that Nintendo doesn't come after them and I never even heard of this emulator before

Humble Choice for March 2024 has Nioh 2, Saints Row, Citizen Sleeper

Quoting: KimyrielleTbh, this is the worst Choice month in a while. I might just as well pause it, too. At first I thought about getting it for AfterImage alone, but it seems to be insanely difficult, too. In other words, not for me.

At least I learned a new term. I had no idea what "masocore" is until I read the Nioh 2 Steam page...
Afterimage isn't insanely difficult as long as you have the right equipment and experience level like a lot of other similar Metroidvania game. Also, this one has multiple endings based on certain events that occur throughout the game. I thought it was a fun game but the sidekick is annoying though, lol

As for Nioh 2, if you played enough Soulslike game and understand the mechanics, then this one is right up but not at the level of any of the FromSoftware games. The thing about this game is that you collect a lot of loot from enemy drops and each one has different attributes that make them interesting if you match each piece of related armor. I already beat both Nioh 1 and 2 on the PS4 back then and they were fun games

Linux on the desktop breaks 4% for the first time on Statcounter

Quoting: LibreTEKHopefully people begin making the switch due to Microsoft's gamble on forcing an AI "copilot" into their desktop OS. Not that I'm against AI but my goodness, that's gonna (as I said before, hopefully make users jump ship.

But all in all, exciting news! Been using Linux for over 10 years now and never thought it'd get to where it's at today.
This is the dream to have more people move over to Linux and one day, we'll see the Year of the Linux Desktop/Gaming finally become a reality like we're supposed to believe back in the early 2000s

Yuzu agrees to pay Nintendo $2.4 million and will entirely shut down (Citra for 3DS too)

It sucks that Yuzu and Citra had to take the fall to Nintendon't but it's was bound to happen. Good thing I don't give a crap about Nintendon't first party games for the longest time and even if their Switch 2 is more powerful than PS4 Pro, I'll gladly take the Steam Deck and/or other Linux handheld PC over it any day of the week because they ain't getting any money from me for the crap they keep pulling year after year. Too many games to play outside of what Nintendon't make and sadly, too many people still fall for their nostalgic characters enough to keep the floating around for years to come.
