It will also feature new dungeons for PvE fans, which has me very happy. The new dungeons will have new creatures too, so that sounds pretty fun.My interest is rising.

Interesting. Quite tempted to try this, even though I'm not sure my system is up to it.
Also happy about the Mesa support (albeit with the development warning - nothing to worry about from personal experience) instead of Catalyst/Radeon Crimson, and the Intel support.
Although I'm not very willing to gain the favour of the pope, usually...

Quoting: nishazzarDwarfs... sci-fi setting... looks a little bit like some kind of a modern version of "The lost vikings"... instabuy if it performs good on linux :wub:My thought exactly. Also
Quoting: TheBoss- Depending on what you want from the level, you can play in the style of slasher or think through stealth tactics and use environment wisely. That brings fun in replaying the levels;I never succeed in that - I mean, I always end up doing pretty much the same thing when replaying a level.

AMD has announced their 14nm FinFET Polaris GPU architecture

Although I wouldn't be surprised if AMD targeted bang-for-buck and performance-per-watt over absolute performance of their flagship - flagships tend to cost money, but pull along sales of lower-ranked units. AMD has targeted lower price-points with their CPU's and APU's for a while now.
One more thing, with all this talk about lacking Linux support: I mainly miss proper switchable graphics/crossfire support. My iGPU is currently collecting dust. If Polaris and Zen can properly work together (under open source drivers) I may upgrade this cycle, otherwise I'll probably hold off.

Quoting: jordicomaAnother problem is the "comparable competition card" (nvidia) is only GF950, as shown on the video.Well you don't know at which point in the spectrum AMD's engineering sample lands, nor what they mean with comparable: Comparable performance or comparable price point? I'm personally not too fussed about the price point of the 980TI (nor, tbh, about comparisons between current-gen of one manufacturer and next-gen of the other).
Will AMD be able to compete with 980TI? or the next nvidia cards for the next year?

Actually, this increases my interest in the game, as they needn't focus on stupid ways of making money as much now.
It does create an interesting situation though. I was planning on giving it a go to see if there was enough PvE content in it (I'm not very much interested in PvP), but now I can no longer do that, and need to rely on other sources to find that out. Looking at you, mr TheBoss.
On a side-note: This article's title is capitalised the way I like it, yet the DoubleFine one isn't. Just curious to your reasoning, as I find 'overcapitalising' very unclear when there's actual proper nouns in the title.

I suppose they weren't happy with being nominated for most anticipated game for 2016 and squeezed in a 2015 release. Although it's probably too late for people to give the game an honest consideration...

The second, I don't know. Too much different distro's with too much different ways of doing things can make it hard to find your way. Around the system, or to resources that apply to your system. But as I said, I don't really know, never tried anything other than Ubuntu/Debian.
Edit:
Just to clarify, I feel like options 'under the hood' aren't going to matter much to most end-users. It can be confusing though, did I pick the right one?

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionA testament to a healthy, diverse set of interfaces competing with eachother. The same can't be said for the distributions category which appears to be Debian/Arch dominated. The first, I'm happy about. For my personal options, but it's also convenient for new users to be able to pick a DE that suits them.

Quoting: tuubiYes. Choice is good. Yet you feel personally insulted when people choose to use Linux in ways you don't support. Go figure...Can only speak for myself, but I'm not insulted when people choose to use Linux in other ways. I'm insulted when they indicate using AMD is a stupid option.
Go refugees!

I'm quite satisfied with my 7850HD's performance under RadeonSI - and I feel a bit insulted by some people here that appear to think AMD is only for mad people atm. I enjoy my Victor Vran, my BioShock Infinite, my Europa Universalis IV, my Witcher 2, and a few more - albeit all on fairly low settings. I understand that people want better performance that that - but imo, it all comes down to priorities. Just as AMD's performance is acceptable to me, others will accept the closed-source nature of NVidia. Ofcourse I'd rather see more people on my side, but to each his own.
As to Vulkan, I still hope to see it in January, even though the first I'd use it will be later - when I have the money to upgrade my system - I suppose. But the sooner it's out the gates, the faster it'll be accepted, the wider its reach will be.
