Quoting: lucifertdarkI keep hearing about asset flipping games, but what does that mean? what are they? what do I as a gamer need to look out for to avoid wasting my money on them?
Games made purely out of the assets that can be bought in the (Unity) asset store. Some "devs" stitch a few basic components together, give it a name and put it on Steam to make a quick buck from unsuspecting buyers who respond to the fancy descriptions.

Once you know, you can pretty much recognise them from the thumbnails. They're generally pretty empty screenshots with no atmosphere whatever. They don't show gameplay and if there is an interface showing at all, it's the most basic stuff you've seen.

Quoting: RybladeOne question though... how the hell do you "like" a comment on here? I see buttons for Report, Block, Bookmark, Link and Quote. I do have some extensions that block like buttons from third-party social media platforms... maybe they're hiding the button thinking it connects to Facebook or something. Anyone else having this issue?
It should be to the right of the quote button. And yes, some of the social filters take it out.

You may as well disable the blockers. There is nothing left on this site that needs blocking.

Since Hitman 2 was announced, it may be interesting to figure out a way in which this hint can apply to that.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPSpeaking about reviews, I seriously hope they will remove that thumbs down/up nonsense, since many games simply aren't that clearly good or bad. A simple 5 star system would be much better.
Agreed. The thumbs up/down system is even objectively silly. Technically, any game that is "decent" should get a 100% thumbs up rating because it's not bad enough to vote it down entirely. It's only because people start choosing because of specific things that these ratings don't become entirely polarised.

I'm surprised it took this long.

I often click the developer/publisher links on game pages to see the list of games they were involved in. Either to see if there is something else interesting or to see what they're about and how their Linux support is. I'm not too sure this will change much for me in that regard.

Of course you can never win from him because that would be eternal misery. :P

I gave them my pre-order after their effort on getting the Linux version to work. So far, I'm liking what I'm reading. Let's hope the gameplay will be good as well.

Making a point of "A larger map than Fortnite" seems to be a little much. BR (hey, Black Riddles has the same acronym as Battle Royal) said the map was 6 km2 with out specifying whether that is a whole square or the walkable area. The best I could get from Fortnite was a supposed mention by Epic that it had 5.5 km2 of walkable map. That said, this appears to be a good size for a BR game where you mainly walk.

Of course I'm happy about the "no microtransactions". However, for continued support there must also be some sort of continued income. Whether story DLC will be enough remains to be seen. I'd be interested in knowing what other options they would have. If the game is as fun as they're hyping it to be, then I wouldn't mind buying something every now and then to keep it going. Same as I do for SCS Software and their truck sims.

Good to see that season events are planned. It makes things a bit more interesting and if done right it may help keep player count up for longer.

Now if I only knew what anti-cheat system they will be using, I can start preparing for some shooting! :D

This is your chance to show off your mad skills, have a bit of fun and hopefully not lose too badly.
Haha! Skills and not losing are a bit too much to ask, but I'll at least have fun. Can only do the 6PM UTC events though, and the 2v2 only if I can rope in some sucker a friend to lose play with me.

In any case, thanks for doing more of these!
If you want the failure to be truly epic, I could assist you. :D

Nice to see that there are still games that fell through the cracks. Don't think this one is entirely my cup of tea, but maybe the next PIN is.

Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia releases for Linux on Thursday, will use Vulkan

I'm not surprised about the Vulkan only port. With Vulkan stable enough for the latest two to be exclusive, adding OpenGL would pretty much be wasted effort. I don't think we'll see an OpenGL port from Feral again.

I wonder if this TW game would be more my thing. The reviews are quite mediocre because it appears to be a more 'dumbed down' version of a TW game. Maybe it requires less patience to get into.
