I wonder if that would work without issue on Proton.

It seems that they just want to alienate everybody at this point. Let's see if this will be at least a good game.

WB close F.E.A.R. and Shadow of Mordor dev Monolith Productions and other studios

So I wonder if this is one of those "The overlord company is losing money bad" situations, or just one of those "The overlord company isn't making money as fast as the shareholders gripe it should, so they're cutting a source of short-term losses to use the money for share buy-backs, at the expense of future revenue" situations.
This will be definitely the second one as they are looking forward for profitability and growth. It more looks like the last quarters weren't great and they are trying to reduce costs, so the next quarter looks better. This is a problem with all publicly owned companies.

I wonder what is the strategy they are talking about. Because closing studios doing great games is not the best strategy.

So my assumption is either more focus on using AI, live service or focusing on some specific IPs. Any of these are not a good strategy and will bite them in the future.

I just wish they would fix the controller support implementation. They had some good bones in that, just needed a bit more work.
If they fix that + UI scaling it would be really great to play on Steam Deck.

This video seems to be targeted on businesses with plenty of corporate speech in the video. And right now the businesses listen to everything about AI. It will be unpleasant surprise for them when the AI bubble pops.

I'm not surprised that M$ is trying AI even in the XBox department. From the short term perspective it would be bad for them to not do it.

I played one game yesterday and the patch is really a game changer. Plenty of things are completely different and it will take some time to grasp them.

The Steam is nice to use, it doesn't force you anything and provides features that are nice to have. You want to play offline? Just do it. You want to organize your library? Here are categories, have fun. Looking for some specific games? Here are the recommendations. And so on. Their openness is also a big plus. Hardware that you can do anything with and have even guide how to disassemble it that is a really great thing :-)

When Epic starts to make the store more user friendly and not just trying to compete with free giveaways they would maybe have a bigger share. Everything I usually hear from them is either about money or how bad Steam is. The only positive thing they did in last few years is Unreal Engine 5 (I assume that is different division of Epic).

I would like to see UI scaling on DOTA 2. I recently tried it on Steam Deck connected to fullHD television and the UI is just really small. You can scale the map, but that is all. Most of the text is unreadable in this case.
