Retro-styled 3D racer Super Indie Karts gets a new 'Mission Mania' mode

At first glance, this game reminds me of one of my favorite DOS games from Apogee Software [External Link] called Wacky Wheels [External Link]. The mechanics of the game were simple, but game play was quite addictive. When I did a search, I was surprised to find that Wacky Wheels was still available and on Steam.
Super Indie Karts is definitely a significant improvement over Wacky Wheels, but the game still has a ways to go to match the free and open-source SuperTuxKart [External Link].

Humble Choice is leveling up next month!
https://blog.humblebundle.com/2022/01/11/humble-choice-is-leveling-up/ [External Link]
Kudos and props to the Humble Bundle Marketing Team. They did a good job of making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Not sure they are fooling anyone, but still an excellent effort!
For Humble Choice Classic Subscribers, this is a significant downgrade in so many ways.
For the "non-classic" Humble Choice Subscribers, we will see how this all shakes out. I am not horribly optimistic.
The four concerns that I have are:
1. How many games will be offered each month; since they are not guaranteeing there will be 10 games?
2. Are the games going to be of an equal or higher quality than the games offered previously?
3. How many "Epic, Origin, GOG, etc." keys will be offered in each month's bundle?
Personally, I want Steam games and nothing else.
4. How will access to the Humble Games Collection work out for Linux users?

VAXEE offer up some really great mice, thoughts on the VAXEE Outset AX

I have been looking for a mouse to replace an older Razer DeathAdder (v.1). Been a long-time user of Razer products. Got started back when they sponsored the Cyberathlete Professional League in the late 90s. Have been a loyal customer, but my enthusiasm has waned over the years. I have a friend that played in CPL and had Razer as a sponsor. Several years ago I discovered that he had moved away from Razer mice/keyboards and was using Corsair/Logitech products. Razer products have a good deal more competition now and the quality of the keyboards and mice has deteriorated. I have tried several different companies, but I like the look of this mouse. Ordered one yesterday.
Loop Hero from Four Quarters hits a million sales

One of the many great aspects of this game is that you can "play it your way". You can configure the your character's movement mode in a number of ways. At the beginning of the game a randomly generated loop (circular shaped path) is created. As you move around the loop, you encounter mobs. The types of mobs spawned depends on the path and adjacent tiles. You can configure the game so that your character pauses at:
1. The beginning block of the loop
2. After each mob encounter
3. Only after the user presses a designated key
Using the final method, people have created "Endless Loops". This is accomplished by strategically placing tiles so that their character is continuously looping and collecting resources/XP. I have over a 124 hours in this game and never quite got an endless loop that I felt confident in running.
I agree with all of the comments of @eldaking and @pleasereadthemanual and would highly recommend it to any gamer that enjoys this genre of game.

How to win against controller players (General idea of it) [External Link]
This Steam guide explains how to do better against players that are using controllers since, according to the author: ... everybody is complaining about controller players and their "aim assist".
I do not have much insight into this since I use keyboard and mouse almost exclusively.

It's not surprising that they're seeing people or companies with lots of cash to burn jump at them, as it has been incredibly popular. However, at least on Steam though, it's already very clearly past the peak with online player numbers dropping pretty steadily over the last few weeks.Over the last couple weeks I have noticed fewer Steam players playing Splitgate. This makes me wonder if this might be somewhat related to this guide I found online:

Just completed a playthrough of the first episode. Nice of Black Tabby Games to give this first installment away for free. The characters, dialog, game progression and artwork are fantastic. I know many people do not like this game genre; but if you have ever enjoyed playing a visual graphics novel, you will enjoy this one.

Steam Game Festival is now called Steam Next Fest, returning June 16

I enjoyed the last Steam Festival. I always have liked the "try before you buy" model. Much of the time watching a "trailer" (i.e., advertisement) for a game gives me almost no feel for whether I will enjoy playing a game or not.
I also like the criteria that they have established to determine which developers are eligible. Helps to separate the wheat from the chaff.
I would guess that this means that the Steam Summer Sale will occur shortly this event. I need to start saving my loose change now.

I Need Help! ... I can't stop scooping the Loop!
Very addictive and enjoyable game. The mechanics and strategy of this game (e.g., tile placement) was quite a mystery when the game was first released and the Steam Guides were extremely limited. This has changed significantly in the last week. Knowing the tile placement combos and their effects is essential to quickly acquiring resources and advancing your progress in the game. I have also found the Reddit Loop Hero Community [External Link] to be extremely helpful.

This is the first time I have purchased a game within an hour of publication on Steam. I played the demo for an hour and I knew it was something I would enjoy. I should mention that the demo version became unavailable at the time of the full release.
It reminds me of a game called Gateway to Apshai [External Link] that I played for untold hours on my Commodore 64. The game was developed/published by Epyx Computer Software, which had a number of very popular games in the 80s.
Although Gateway to Apshai was a dungeon crawler; the MIDI generated sound track, gameplay progression and even the pixelized hero are so reminiscent of the Apshai series. I can see now that I am going to be spending a considerable amount of time "scooping the loop" in Loop Hero.
