Sink your teeth into capitalism after a 500-year slumber in Brocula out now

It looks interesting, but the sound effects seem awfully harsh to my ears. I can't help but feel like the running sound and NPC "voices" would annoy me greatly after a while.

Maybe not even that long a while.

HELLDIVERS 2 will soon actually require a PlayStation Network account

Quoting: EhvisI skipped on it because of the external account requirement. Didn't even know that it wasn't needed all this time.

Quoting: TheRiddickI don't really see the reason why everyone who never plans to have a playstation needs now make a PSN account to play the game bought on steam. But apparently it was in the fine print somewhere.

is PSN store coming to PC? then that would make some sense.
I've heard word that Sony is trying to set up their own version of GamePass, so it makes sense (if somewhat scummy) that they'd be pressuring devs to require a login. I imagine Arrowhead is caught in the middle , and will see no benefit at all.

Hell, they won't even be the ones harvesting monetizable data.
Something like that would have been my guess. I wouldn't even be surprised if the "grace period" was done on purpose in order to give many more people a "smoother ride" into the game. That may sound a little conspiracy, but Sony has done worse things.
Two possibilities occur to me. First is that Sony only started putting their plan into action after release, so it wasn't even a consideration until now. The other is that they deliberately waited until they got a large player count with a big sunk cost before pulling a bait and switch of sorts. And, of course, none of those players can get refunds now.

Bye Sweet Carole blends horror with what looks like classic Disney movies

The essence of it, below the fairly polished visuals, seems to draw on stuff like the Little Nightmare games. A few wrinkles on the formula, but I imagine if you liked those this would be appealing.

Ashlands update for Valheim has a new trailer and public test is live

It's really nice to see they're filling in so much content, although I'll almost certainly never get to see it.

I doubt I'd be able to muster the skill and tenacity to get all the way to the Ashlands. Hell, I haven't even been past the swamps. So this stuff might as well be a whole other game.

Really hoping at some point they'll get all the late game stuff finished so they can loop back and make the early game more engaging and improve quality of life for the lesser Vikings among us.

It took about 15 years but epic roguelike Caves of Qud is nearly done

I never thought I would live to see the day....

I seriously need to play this game again.

Slay the Spire 2 announced by Mega Crit for 2025

I've never been very good at Slay the Spire (literally dozens of losses for each win, never beat the heart and stopped trying, etc.), but I kinda love the game anyway. It's tremendous fun how you can make these broken builds without hardly trying, and you can reasonably seat of your pants it without needing to really understand synergies or keep track of what every relic does. Which interacts well with my inattentive nature.

As to only showing a couple of the first game's characters, I think I recall that the Defect and Watcher were added relatively late in development. So Ironclad and Silent are basically the iconic characters, being there longest and second most. Makes sense to match those with at least one new character. Now whether we get the other two at all, or if we get another new one instead, that's up in the air. Only so much time in a reveal trailer, and their absense may not mean anything at all.

I'm good if they freshen it up though.

Quoting: PenglingAh, Konami, I love you but you sure are weird - why was this not a Castlevania collab?!

Still, uh, does that mean we're one step closer to Bomberman Survivors now?
Castlevania's busy over at V Rising's house. They're having a sleepover.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyWell anyway, a "Slay the Spire" sequel is one of the few sequel games I'm rather looking forward to.
The trailer for Wizard of Legend II is a huge turn-off. And I'm not really a fan of changing the art style either.

It's great that StS2 isn't going down that road.
